District 4 H Photography Contest Theme: Reflections February 1, 2016 Registration Closes on 4 H Connect (late fees will apply after the 1st) Entry fees for the District contest are $8.00 per person plus $.50 per photo. Contest Guidelines and Rules, can be picked up at the County Extension Office or emailed to you as requested. Contestants Do Not have to be present at any time during the judging or awards presentation. Deadline Approaching! This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for the Texas Farm Credit Scholarship Programs is quickly approaching. Students have until 4 p.m. on December 1, 2016 to submit their applications.

Major Show Entries Due Major Show Entries for San Antonio, Houston, San Angelo, and Star of Texas are due to the Extension Office on: November 21, 2016 Texas 4 H Opportunity Scholarship Applica ons Available On Line h p://texas4 h.tamu.edu/scholarships/ The 2016 Texas 4 H Opportunity Scholarship applica on for all 4 H seniors are now available on the Texas 4 H website. The Texas 4 H Opportunity Scholarship Program offers four different types of scholarship for either high school seniors or former 4 H members. Scholarships available are: * Baccalaureate scholarships for those high school seniors entering college/university to acquire a four year degree. * Technical scholarship for youth not wan ng a four year degree, but a technical training cer ficate through a junior college or a accredited trade school. * Courageous Heart scholarship for 4 H members who have experienced major obstacles that have altered their lifestyles related to home, school, or medical but have remained ac ve in 4 H and in their school accomplishments. * Collegiate Scholarship for former 4 H members that have been in college for at least one year and have completed at least 30 hours of college course work. Other requirements related to GPA are also required to apply. The scholarship applica ons as well as instruc ons and examples are provided on the Texas 4 H and Youth Development website.
