Wed, March 2 nd Thurs, March 3 rd (Finals) Here are the testing center days through the end of the trimester: FBI Youth Leadership Academy (YLA): The Summer YLA is an educational experience that provides students with valuable leadership training and a greater understanding of the FBI. Through experiential learning activities, students will develop skills in communication, trust, team work, goal setting and leadership. This residential event hosted at Bradford Woods, Indiana University s experiential learning center located just south of Mooresville, starts July 13 at 9:00 a.m. and ends July 15 at 11:00 a.m... Participants must: be current Juniors (member of the graduating class of 2017); have a GPA of at least 3.0; possess qualities of leadership, scholastic achievement and good citizenship; and commit to attending the entire three day program. If interested, visit Mr. Frederick (room 1224) to receive an application. The application includes a 500 word essay in which the applicant must depict his/her interest in the program and how it will enhance his/her future plans. Applications must be mailed and received by Friday, April 1, 2016. Twenty students from across the state will be selected to participate by the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association. There is no cost for students to participate; lodging and all meals are included. Students must arrange their own transportation if selected. The 2015-16 yearbook cost is now $65! The Online Newspaper Club will be meeting Thursday, March 10th during 6th period. We will meet in Mr. Sander s room (1225). Newcomers are always welcome! Anyone interested in submitting a board game idea to Game Tank should see Mr. Bruns in the Learning Center. 1st round submissions are due by Friday. Rocks Shop meeting on Tuesday, March 8 during 6th period in Mr. Frederick's room (1224). We will plan our St. Patrick's Day Sale and finalize a t-shirt order. The next EliteGamingLIVE tournament will take place from 3-6 p.m. in the LGI on Thursday, March 10. If you plan on coming out for the first time, required consent forms must be signed by a parent/guardian are available in the Learning Center at the Club Hub or outside Mr. Frederick's room (1224). All February Champions, (NBA 2K - Amari Hogans, Madden - Lucas Manworren, Mario Kart - Jarrod Monroe, FIFA - Gus Pippin, Smash Brothers - Dylan McGinnis), please stop by to see Mr. Frederick before Tri 2 finals. WHS Key Club is sponsoring a Bowl-a-thon on March 12th at Bowl 32 in Noblesville to raise money for Relay for Life and everyone is invited! Tickets are $20, but high school students can get TWO tickets for $32! Each ticket includes 2 games of bowling, shoe rental, a piece of pizza, and a soft drink. This is a great deal and supports a great cause! Tickets will be sold during lunch from February 24 - March 4. See Mrs. Bever in room 2326 with questions. On April 15, 2016, Amnesty International is holding a dodgeball tournament to raise money for Amnesty International and a local charity. The form packets can be found in the Club Hub. These forms are due back to Mrs. Knight by March 15. Be sure to get your forms in early because there is a maximum of 16 teams. It costs $60 dollars per team, and each team requires at least 6 people. The winners get to pick the local charity that receives a donation. ATHLETICS: Boys Varsity Basketball: The Rocks lost their first round sectional game to the Fishers Tigers, 53 to 58 at Noblesville on Tuesday night. Senior Charlie Warner led all scorers with 23 points. Junior Ian Kristensen also added 12 points. Come out and support our WHS Cheerleaders by eating at Greek's Pizzeria on Thursday, March 3 rd dine in, carry out, or delivery count, just mention that you are supporting the WHS Cheer team! You get a GREAT meal, support a local business, and help out our WHS cheerleaders! Go Rocks! Are you ready for some VOLLEYBALL? Student Impact Volleyball Registration will be in the cafeteria during all lunches starting Tuesday, February 16 th and ending Thursday, March 3 rd. Players must be in 9-12th grade and able to attend a Westfield Washington School, but can be home schooled or in private school to play. The fee is $50 per player. Evaluations are March 3rd at 7pm in the MPIF. Each night will be a practice for one hour and games for one hour on the following dates starting at 6:30pm: March 8, March 15, March 22, March 24, March 29, April 12, April 14, April 19, April 21, April 26 and the tournament on April 28.

Over 100 colleges/universities will be represented at the fair! The event is free, and students in all grade levels are welcome to attend. This award honors Westfield High School alumni whose deeds and character exemplify outstanding achievement in their life s work and/or service to their communities. An honoree s spirit and leadership are worthy of recognition and have inspired praise and gratitude among his or her peers. The application deadline is March 15, 2016, and the Hall of Fame recipient will be honored at the spring WHS Seniors Award Night at the close of the school year.
