Mission & Impact Statements Mission The mission of United Way of Sumner County is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. Background Since 1977, United Way of Sumner County has worked to improve the daily lives and future opportunities of all Sumner County residents by mobilizing the caring power of communities. In support of this mission, United Way of Sumner County seeks to help increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another. The United Way is a local, comprehensive, accountable, and transparent way to meet growing needs in Sumner County. Each United Way is a locally governed non-profit organization led by a volunteer Board of Directors. Impact United Way of Sumner County partners with 32 local non-profit health and human service organizations to advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all. United Way focuses on Education, Income/Financial Stability, Health, and Rebuilding Lives.
