Please read all the information and rules and keep this page as a reminder for dates and times. Alamance Citizens for a Drug Free Community (ACDFC), a local non-profit organization, works with law enforcement, schools, Elon University, churches, businesses, parents, youth, health organizations, and others to prevent alcohol and drug abuse. To Audition for the Talent Show: You must be enrolled in an Alamance County K-12 school or in K-12 homeschool and reside in Alamance County. Please fill out the complete audition packet and bring it with you to one of the audition times listed below along with your $10 entrance fee. Please attach a picture of yourself to the application. This will not be returned to you, so copies are fine. You can pay in cash or write a check payable to Alamance Citizens for a Drug Free Community. The entrance fee is $10 per person. If you have a group who will be auditioning, an application and application fee is needed for each individual in that group. Only one act can be entered per person. Please choose one of the times below for your audition. The location for all auditions is: Shamrock Nutrition, 146 S. Main St, Graham, NC 27253. Saturday, March 24th, 2018 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Thursday, April 12 th, 2018 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, April 24 th, 2018 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM You may audition on any one date. In case of inclement weather there will be a sign on the door, or you can check or the Alamance Citizens for a Drug Free Community FB page if auditions are postponed. Talent show rehearsal is mandatory Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at 12:00 PM Talent show final competition: Saturday, May 12 th, 2018 at Vailtree Event and Conference Center, in Haw River. The show starts at 6:00 PM with doors opening at 5:00 PM. Tickets are $10.00 at the door or may be purchased through Eventbrite. See our FB page or for details. All proceeds raised will help to defray costs and to give back to the community through Alamance Citizens for a Drug Free Community. So, what is your TALENT? Are you a comedian, actor, dancer, gymnast, poet, singer, or musician? Your talent is meant to be shared and this is your chance! Applications packets are available at Shamrock Nutrition in Graham. Talent Show Rules All contestants must be enrolled in an Alamance County school, either public, private, charter, or home school program during the 2017-2018 year in grades K through 12. All contestants must also reside in Alamance County. All contestants must participate in the preliminary auditions. Sorry, NO EXCEPTIONS. Contestants can only participate in one act. Preliminary auditions may be 2 to 3 minutes in length. Final competition acts will be allowed 5-6 minutes maximum. Going beyond the 6minute mark may result in disqualification. Absolutely no lip syncing allowed. All contestants must print out all song lyrics in any song that will be performed. This must be included with the entry form. If props will be used, you will be in charge of placing your own props on stage. If any type of audio equipment will be use, you must bring to the audition and final performance. Only one adult will be allowed backstage with the contestants during the final performance. No contestant, member of the contestant s family, or contestant s guests should approach the emcee, the judges, or score keepers before or during the contest. All contestants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or adult to the auditions and final performance. If CD s are used, please specify on the entry form if you want them returned to you. No acts with fire, animals, or glitter will be allowed. Rehearsal the day of the event is mandatory. The time will be 12:00 PM at Vailtree. Appropriate attire, language, and behavior is required at all times. This is a family show. Questions? FAMILY SPONSOR FORM Attention Parents/Family Members/Friends If your child is chosen to participate in this year s talent show CONGRATULATIONS! We are offering friends and family members the opportunity to place a special note to their child in our program which will be distributed to all guests on the night of the show. This is a great way to show your love and support!! Family messages will be approximately the size of a business card. The cost for each message is $10.00. You may wish your child good luck, tell them how proud you are of them, or create a special message of your own. More than one ad can be purchased for the same person.
