PAGE 3 President Bill s Monthly Message As you may or may not know, on May 25th we will be having a Tire Dealers Association meeting. At this meeting we will be starting things off with a meet and greet from 6:30-7:00PM then we will be provided with two separate presentations with a break in between presentations for dinner. These presentations are anticipated to be not only educational, but extremely useful. Each meeting, the goal of Western Pennsylvania Tire Dealers Association is to provide members quality information intended to be utilized in our particular field of interest. At the conclusion of our research and monthly board meetings, we found two great sources to bring to the upcoming meeting. One of those being Federated Insurance, the other TCS Technologies, an ARI company. Operating in 49 states, and in business for over a century with a devoted interest in businesses like ours, Federated insurance will be demonstrating how it can help protect us. A guest speaker from Federated Insurance will be delivering a presentation specifically geared towards bettering employee selection and increasing business protection. To understand this protection fully, it would be helpful to bring with you employees and anyone else who could benefit from insurance that your business could carry. Secondly, an ARI representative will be at this meeting as well to address TCS technologies. For more than 20 years, TCS Technologies, an ARI company, has delivered industry leading solutions to more than 20,000 automotive tire and wheel dealers who depend on TCS websites and software tools. Even if you currently do not use these companies, were aiming to learn ways we could make our daily business activities easier from two great sources in our industry. There's no obligation to one produce/service, we just wish to keep members updated on the developments in this field. Lastly I'm glad to say these meetings have been going well. I want to thank all who support this organization. Without such support, we couldn't support you. Thanks again, and well see you May 25th.

Page 7 Legislative update on issues impacting tire dealers. This page is dedicated to keeping our members informed of legislation and regulations that our elected officials and bureaucrats in Harrisburg and Washington are proposing. WASHINGTON (April 18, 2016) The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is urging its members to contact their senators to urge them to vote on a bill that would bring about a full and permanent repeal of the estate tax. TIA is a member of the Family Business Estate Tax Coalition, a group of more than 100 small business associations dedicated to fighting for a repeal of the estate tax, TIA said in the April 18 issue of its weekly Legislative Update. The Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015 has already passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a 240-179 vote, according to TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield, writing in the Legislative Update. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is a co-sponsor of the Senate version of the estate tax repeal bill Mr. Littlefield said, urging TIA members to please contact your senators and let them know how important this bill is! The coalition itself sent a March 15 letter to Sen. McConnell, urging him to schedule a floor vote on the bill. Repealing the death tax would spur job creation and grow the economy, the letter said. A recent Tax Foundation study found that the U.S. could create over 150,000 jobs by repealing the estate tax. The estate tax also contributes very little to federal revenues, according to the coalition. There is a good argument that not collecting the estate tax would create more economic growth and lead to an increase in federal revenue from other taxes, it said. Perhaps the worst effect of the estate tax is the disproportionate harm it does to minorities, the coalition said. The Chicago Defender, the oldest African-American-owned daily newspaper in the U.S., went bankrupt because of estate tax liabilities, and a study showed that the estate tax will reduce African-American wealth by 13 percent, it said. Contact your PA Senators and urge them to vote for full and permanent repeal of the Federal Estate Tax. Senator Pat Toomey - 248 Russell Senate Office Bldg.
