The WOOD COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION met in regular session on December 5, 2017, at the board s central office located at 1210 13 th St., Parkersburg, West Virginia. I. President Hasbargen called the meeting to Order at 6:30 p.m. II. III. The roll was called and were present President Hasbargen and members Ron Tice, Jimmy Asbury, Rick Tennant and Peggy Smith. Discussions: President Hasbargen made a motion to go into executive session. Peggy Smith seconded the motion and the vote was 5-1. The Board went into executive session at 6:33 p.m. and returned at 7:16 p.m. Upon returning, President Hasbargen noted that the board discussed the superintendents goals, and nothing else during executive session. A. Update on Superintendent s Goals IV. During Public Discussion and Comments, Millie Stoneking, Teacher at PHS raised concerns that employee code of conduct is important and that employees who are disciplined should all be listed in the board meeting minutes in the same manner. V. Presentation of Items for Consideration and Action A. It was moved by Peggy Smith and seconded by Jimmy Asbury to dispense with the reading and approve Minutes from the November 28, 2017 meeting. B. It was moved by Jimmy Asbury and seconded by Rick Tennant to approve matters and positions on our agenda. (Please see attached.) C. It was moved by Rick Tennant and seconded by Jimmy Asbury to approve Payroll & Related Disbursements in the amount of $3,315,950.14. D. It was moved by Peggy Smith and seconded by Ron Tice to approve Transfers in Operating Cash Transfers in the amount of $4,737,200.00. 1 12.05.17
E. It was moved by Ron Tice and seconded by Rick Tennant to approve Accounts Payable Invoices in the amount of $1,198,442.61. F. It was moved by Jimmy Asbury and seconded by Rick Tennant to approve of the purchase Nor-Lake FINELINE walk-in freezer (960 sq. ft.) from Douglas Equipment for $86,117.29 for the Child Nutrition Warehouse and proceed with the foundation design and construction bid process. G. It was moved by Ron Tice and seconded by Peggy Smith to approve the 365 day expulsion of student #12.05.17.01 for violating the Safe Schools Act. H. It was moved by Peggy Smith and seconded by Rick Tennant to approval travel for 18 members of the Parkersburg South High Girls Basketball Team to travel to North Allegheny High School in Wexford, PA. VI. VII. Board Member Comments: Jimmy Asbury congratulated Holly on the new freezer. He also said he s interested in giving back to the community. Peggy Smith noted that she saw and liked positive things in the newspaper. President Hasbargen adjourned the meeting at 7:40 p.m. 2 12.05.17
