Spring 2019 Inside this issue Spring Assignments Move-In Schedule Early Arrival Registration What to Bring Residence Hall Addresses Welcome to Living On Campus

SPRING ASSIGNMENTS Welcome to living on campus! Southeast Missouri State University is very pleased to have you as part of our campus community. Information about room assignments, the move-in schedule, early arrival registration, meningitis vaccinations and a list of suggested items to bring to campus are contained in this move-in guide. Assignments for individuals who submitted a housing contract prior to December 21, 2018 will be viewable starting December 21. Individuals who submit a housing contract after this date will not receive an assignment until the first week of January. To view your assignment, please go to the Residence Life Housing Portal, select New Students and then Assignment Info. Here are a few things to remember about the housing assignment process for the Spring 2019 semester: 1.New students are joining an existing community. Space may not be available to accommodate roommate pairs. Every effort is made to assign students to their first or second building choice. 2. Incoming first-year and transfer students are assigned to one of the 10 residence halls. Towers East and Towers North are freshmen-only housing. All other buildings house undergraduate and graduate students. Assignments are made using the preference responses, but are random in order for each community to be a microcosm of the University. 3. Transfer and re-entering students are assigned to upper class housing, based on availability. 4. Private rooms, if available, are assigned in application date order. 5. Roommates are assigned by these criteria: Roommate preferences - Study, sleeping and socializing habits. Mutual request - Roommates must enter each other s Southeast ID for consideration. For the spring semester, roommate requests are strongly considered, but an assignment with a specific roommate cannot be guaranteed due to variables in space availability. MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW. THE RESIDENCE HALLS OPEN AT 8:00 a.m. ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 13, 2019.
