Each programme is of eight week s duration and the participants are middle and senior level civil servants drawn from developing countries. Other Academic Experience i) Managing Editor of the Indian Journal of Labour Economics since 1995. This Journal is widely referred both within India and overseas, and has more than 1500 subscribers. ii) iii) iv) Intensively engaged in the organisational activities of the Indian Society of Labour Economics for the last one and half decade. The major activity of the Society is to organise its Annual Conferences in which about 300 academicians and policy makers participate both from India and overseas. Apart from this, the Society organises seminars and workshops on the themes relevant to the present day context. It also publishes books on various aspects of labour and human development. I have been intensively involved in planning and organising about twenty seminars during the last 15 years. I have been also closely associated in bringing out five books of the Society, which have been widely referred in academic works. Acted as a Co-coordinator of Second International Conference of the Global Labour Forum, which has been attended over 150 foreign and 250 Indian delegates during December 13-14, 2005 in New Delhi. Acted as a Co-convenor of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Indian Society of Labour Economics, 2008-09. v) Worked as Editor of the Manpower Journal for two years (1999 to 2000).
