November / December 2012 Lots Going On Hi Everyone, We've had lots happening at the SCC the past couple of months: some have been entertaining, others informative, and some have just been a lot of fun. It was nice to see new faces at the brunch in September and hope they will be returning. In the next few months we will have several new programs, a magical afternoon with the grandkids, a visit from an Asian elephant, and Abe Lincoln will be stopping by. Don t forget our terrific Holiday Luncheon at the Windows on the Green at Hidden Creek Park (GEEAA). You will find information about these and other events in this issue of the Scoop or call 346-3910 for more information. Time to Share with the Giving Tree Springdale Community Center members have always been very generous during the holiday season. Again this year we will partner with the City of Springdale through S.O.S. (Springdale Offering Support) to provide gifts for less fortunate children within our community. A Giving Tree will be set-up in the Community Center lobby. Each ornament will have the name of a child and an item that he/she has requested. If you would like to participate, select an ornament and purchase the item written on the ornament. Return the item to the SCC (wrapped or unwrapped) with ornament attached by Friday, December 7. If you have any questions, please call 346-3910. Annual Holiday Luncheon Friday, December 7 11:30 a.m. HO! HO! HO! Tis the holiday season and time for our annual Holiday Luncheon at Windows on the Green restaurant at Hidden Creek Park (GEEAA-GE). The entertainment for the day will be Jody Anderson, a talented vocalist who will sing all the seasonal favorites. Get ready for a great time and sing your favorite holiday songs. What s to eat? We'll have turkey with dressing, ham slices, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, glazed carrots, rolls and butter and a scrumptious dessert. Soft drinks and coffee are included. The cost for this festive afternoon is $14.00 for members and $16.00 for guests. Reservations must be made with payment by December 2. Stop by the front desk or call 346-3910 with questions. Let's kick off the holiday season and enjoy good food, entertainment, and fellowship! Creating Community Through People, Parks and Programs
