Washington State University-February 26, 7th period-are you interested in attending college out of state? Find out if you are eligible for the WUE scholarship which makes this school similar in price to a CSU. Top majors at WSU are Business, Engineering and Communications. Sign up in the Career Center to attend. Cal Baptist-March 4, 2nd period. Cal Baptist is a small, Christian private school located in Southern California. Sign up in the Career Center to attend! PSAT10 March 1 from 7:55-11:35 in the Enochs Gym. Modesto City Schools is paying for all sophomores to take the PSAT 10. Please report to the gym with your pencils and calculator by 7:45. Congratulations!! *Congratulations to our Girls State nominees; Madison Hemiller, Arianna Turchetti, Lindsey Pagcaliuagan, Paige Gile, Anahi Lopez, and Shravya Patel. They will be interviewed by the Women s Auxiliary this month and one girl will be chosen to represent Enochs at Girls State. Enochs is proud of the accomplishments of our students! *Congratulations to Sam Hale for being nominated as our schools representative for the Dale Lackey Academic/Athletic Award. Sam will now move on to see if he is selected by our district for the Dale Lackey Scholarship and a chance to move on to the CIF section awards. Page 2 Important Information if you applied to a CSU! Make sure you are checking your email/portals weekly for important information and deadlines. If you miss a deadline they could rescind your acceptance! You may need to sign up for a mandatory summer class called Early Start if you are not exempt based on your EAP or SAT/ACT scores. Please check your portal and email for more information from the colleges. Also, once you have decided the college you will attend make sure you sign up for orientation. It is recommended that you pick the earliest orientation date for best choice of classes. Make sure you pay your enrollment fee and orientation by May 1. Enochs Scholarships Enochs Eagle Foundation-This scholarship will be for a student(s) planning to attend a 2 year or 4 year college who has gone through all 4 years here at Enochs and have a minimum GPA of 2.75. https://enochs.mcs4kids.com/school/counseling/college-counselor. The deadline to apply is April 5. Enochs Athletic Booster Club Scholarship- $500 scholarship to one male and one female athlete. Parents must be members of the Athletic Booster Club. See Mrs. Brogan for the application. Deadline is March 15. Dr. Pezoldt Scholarship-$500 scholarship for an Enochs student who is planning on pursuing a science or health field major. See Mrs. Brogan for an application. Deadline to apply is March 15. New Scholarships Women's Auxiliary Scholarship-Multiple scholarships available to seniors of African American descent that have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Deadline is March 31. See Mrs. Brogan for an application. Youth on Course Scholarship Twenty $4000-$20,000 Scholarships Available. You must have a 3.0 minimum GPA, accepted to a 4 year college. Daniel J Gonsalves Scholarship- $500 to one male and one female athlete who has played a varsity sport their senior year and has at least a 3.0 GPA. Applications due March 15. Portuguese Educational Foundation of Central California-Applicant need not be of Portuguese descent but must demonstrate an interest in learning the language and culture of the Portuguese people. Ed Kimbrough Scholarship-Open to any field of study planning to attend a 4 year college. Make Dreams Real Scholarship-Open to any field of study planning to attend a 4 year college. MTA Cecil Curfman Scholarship-$1000 scholarship for students who are sons/daughters of a parent who is a member of the California Teachers Association. Deadline to apply is April 1. See Mrs. Brogan for an application. MTA Jon Walther Memorial Teaching Scholarship-$1000 to a senior who wants to become a teacher. Deadline to apply is April 1. See Mrs. Brogan for an application. MTA Frank Vandevort Scholarship-$1000 scholarship to a senior whose parent is an active member of MTA and has served as a site rep or committee member for at least two years with regular attendance. Deadline to apply is April 1. See Mrs. Brogan for an application. The Dream.US-Provides motivated undocumented students with scholarships of up to $29,000 to help cover tuition and fees. Applicants must have applied for admission and been accepted to one of the following schools; UC Merced, UC Santa Cruz, CSU East Bay, CSU Long Beach, CSU San Francisco, San Jose State, CSU Sonoma. Modesto Garden Club Scholarship-$1500 scholarship to students majoring in Agronomy, Ag Education, Floriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Botany, Forestry, Wildlife Science, Plant Science, City Planning, Environmental Science. Email gardenscholarship@gmail.com for application. Deadline to apply is April 1. Stanislaus Community Foundation Scholarships-Multiple scholarships available in our community with one application! Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Deadline to apply is March 9. http://www.stanislauscf.org/receive/scholarships North Modesto Kiwanis Scholarship 20 $1000 scholarships will be awarded to seniors who have a 2.75, plan to attend a 2 year or 4 year college in California. Tzu Chi Scholars-$1000 scholarship will be awarded to a student with financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement. The NDTA is looking for students who want to attend a 2 year or 4 year college. A variety of majors will be considered for this scholarship. Please see Mrs. Brogan for more information. Desdemona Martinez Scholarship-$1000 scholarships is for females at least 18 who plan to major in an education field working in special education or have a disability themselves. Mancini Music Scholarship- Numerous $600 scholarships available to students who are musicians, attending college in California, intent on pursuing studies in music education and pursue a career in teaching. Majoring or minoring in music is not required. See Mrs. Brogan for an application. Deadline to apply is February 28. Tom Mellis Memorial Scholarship-$2500 local scholarships for students who are actively playing a varsity sport and show leadership. Deadline is March 1. Soroptimist International of Modesto Scholarship Are you a young woman with significant community service? This scholarship is for you! The Soroptimist club will be awarding numerous scholarships from $500- $4000 to senior girls who have shown excellent community service and academic merit. Deadline to apply is February 15, 2019. See Mrs. Brogan for an application. Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQUE)-$500 scholarship to a student who has a 2.5 GPA and whose parent graduated from a PIQUE program. Christermon Foundation-Scholarships available for students whose parents or grandparents work for a company with a valid liquor, beer or wine license. Stanislaus Community Foundation Scholarships-Multiple scholarships available in our community with one application! Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
