THE CITY OF FREDERICK MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN ORDINANCE NO: G-17-02 AN ORDINANCE concerning The Fiscal Year 2017 Position Schedule FOR the purpose of revising the Fiscal Year 2017 Position Schedule to add a temporary "Officer Manager" position within the Department of Public Works, Division of Operations, "Construction Inspections" BY amending Ordinance No. G-1-14 WHEREAS, on May 19, 201, the Board of Aldermen enacted Ordinance No. G-1-14, which adopted the Fiscal Year 2017 Position Schedule; and WHEREAS, on July 21,201, the Board of Aldermen enacted Ordinance No. G-1-18, which amended the Fiscal Year 2017 Position Schedule to replace two "Operator IV" positions with two "Operator IV - Lead" positions, to remove a vacant "HR Administrator I" position and add an "HR Generalist" position, and to add a part-time Intern position to the Planning Division; and WHEREAS, on October 20, 201, the Board of Aldermen enacted Ordinance No. G-1-2, which amended the Fiscal Year 2017 Position Schedule to add a part-time Heroin Coordinator position to the Frederick Police Department; and WHEREAS, in consideration of the anticipated June 30, 2017 retirement of the Office Manager within the Department of Public Works, Division of Operations, "Construction Inspections", staff has determined there is a need to hire a new Office Manager approximately two months in advance of such retirement; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen desires to amend the Fiscal Year 2017 Position Schedule to add the foregoing position. SECTION I. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF FREDERICK, that (a) (d) (c) The Fiscal Year 2017 Position Schedule is hereby amended to add the position of "Office Manager" (grade 7) under "Construction Inspections". The new Fiscal Year 2017 Position Schedule, revised in accordance with the foregoing, is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by this reference. This new position schedule supersedes the position schedule adopted by Ordinance No. G-1-2. Except as amended by Ordinance No. G-1-18, Ordinance No. G-1-2, and this ordinance, Ordinance No. G-1-14 remains in full force and effect as originally enacted. SECTION II. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED AND ORDAINED, that nothing herein shall be construed to limit the authority of the Board of Aldermen to establish additional positions and salaries, and that in the event of a conflict between this ordinance and any other ordinance or 1

resolution hereafter adopted, the other ordinance or resolution shall prevail unless otherwise expressly stated therein. SECTION III. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED AND ORDAINED, that this ordinance shall take effect on the date it is approved by the Mayor. SECTION IV. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED AND ORDAINED, that in the event any provision, section, sentence, clause, or part of this ordinance shall be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect or impair any remaining provision, section, sentence, clause, or part of this ordinance, it being the intent of the Board of Aldermen that such remainder shall be and shall remain in full force and effect.
