Tuesday, November 22, 2016 The Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers, Tullahoma Chapter and the 2017 National Engineers Week planning committee would like to invite four of your top math and science, junior or senior students to participate in the 2017 Engineer-For-A-Day program at Arnold Engineering Development Complex, Arnold AFB. The program is scheduled for Wednesday, February 22, 7:15 AM to 3:30 PM. Participating students should have an interest in engineering disciplines, preferably have not visited AEDC before with this program and must be US citizens. Students you select for this program must complete the Registration and Hold Harmless Release form and a Talent Release form on the following pages. All forms must be submitted by 12:00 PM, Friday, February 03 (required for security verification) to james.link.ctr@us.af.mil. The Engineer-For-A-Day program allows students to spend a day with a practicing engineer in one of several various local industries. The day spent with the engineer will give the student a close up view of what an engineer is involved in day-to-day, and will also provide the student an opportunity to ask questions regarding the engineering field. As best we can, we will match the student with engineers in the same discipline noted on the entry form. All students will gather at the AEDC Fitness Center near Gate 1, Arnold Air Force Base at 7:15 AM on Wednesday, February 22. Directions to AEDC are given on the attached directions page. After a tour, and panel discussion on engineering studies and career options, students will be provided with lunch, then spend the afternoon with an engineer at his or her job. The afternoon portion may be hosted at AEDC or the student may drive to some other industry in the area (this will be determined when we have the list of students matched with mentor engineers). Engineer-for-A-Day concludes with the mentoring activities at approximately 3:30 PM. I look forward to hearing from you, and hope that by working together, we will be able to provide some valuable insight into career choices for interested students. Please feel free to contact me if you need any additional information. Sincerely, James Link Ph: 931-454-6093 Engineer-For-A-Day 2017 Coordinator Attachments (4): 1) Registration/Entry Form and Hold Harmless Release Form 2) Talent Release Form 3) Directions w/map 4) Rules FEBRUARY 21-27, 2017
