IPTAY GIVING LEVEL CHANGES FOR FY 2020 K E E P I N G C L E M S O N A T H L E T I C S S T R O N G Since 1934 IPTAY members have made a major impact on the success of the Clemson Tigers. In the classroom and in athletic competition, the accomplishments and accolades of our student-athletes would not be possible without the IPTAY Family the team behind the team. IPTAY is the largest revenue producer for Clemson Athletics. Our 19-sport program relies heavily upon the support of more than 17,000 priority donors to the annual fund. At every level, each gift directly supports the success of nearly 500 student-athletes. The Clemson Tigers compete at the highest levels in the ever-changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics. With increasing costs in athletic scholarships, growth in student-athlete programming and academic support, the funds needed to support these areas continue to rise. In order to meet the growing need, the IPTAY 2020 annual giving levels will be adjusted to further continue the organization s mission of supporting Clemson student-athletes. OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT For the second straight year, Clemson set a new school record as seven programs were honored for outstanding academic achievement as part of the NCAA Academic Performance Public Recognition Awards. Baseball, men s basketball, football, men s cross country, women s golf, rowing and volleyball each earned recognition, ranking in the top 10 percent of their sport in the eligibility, graduation and retention metric. The culture of our programs contributes to the academic successes our student-athletes have in the classroom, Clemson Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich said. Our coaches, staff and student-athletes each work to prioritize classroom performance, and it shows up annually in the results put forth by the NCAA in Academic Performance Rate and Graduation Success Rate. Clemson is the only school in the nation to earn academic recognition in baseball, men s basketball and football, and the only school in the ACC to be recognized for rowing. CLEMSON STUDENT-ATHLETES PARTICIPATED IN 131 COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS. 230 STUDENT-ATHLETES RECORDED A GPA ABOVE 3.0 DURING THE FALL 2017 SEMESTER. 3,180 SERVICE HOURS WERE COMPLETED BY CLEMSON STUDENT-ATHLETES IN 2017-2018. IPTAY S MISSION In the classroom and in athletic competition, IPTAY s mission is to provide our student-athletes with the tools they need to be successful. The scope of what IPTAY funds has grown beyond traditional scholarship costs and now also includes important student-athlete support services such as those provided in the Nieri Family Student-Athlete Enrichment Center, strength and conditioning, nutrition services, counseling and life skills.

This fact is not something to take lightly, as not all schools at the NCAA Division I level are able to do so during an era of continued rising costs. During the past ten years, IPTAY s total scholarship expenses have increased by 77.5 percent. To give a snapshot into the increasing tuition costs, in 2017 annual tuition per student at Clemson was $14,318 for in-state students and $34,200 for out-of-state students. In 2008, that cost was $9,870 and $21,800. The IPTAY scholarship expense amount also includes room and board, fees and other expenses in addition to the University tuition costs, bringing the approximate total cost of attendance to $26,000 for in-state students and $46,000 for outof-state students. While these numbers continue to grow, IPTAY s commitment to providing hundreds of student-athletes with the opportunity to attend a top-25 nationally ranked university remains strong. These new membership donation amounts will be reflected in all membership materials and communications for the IPTAY 2020 year.
