Hollin Hall Hosts: Your Next Chapter: Charting Your Course for Retirement, Thursday, November 15, 2012 8 a.m. 5 p.m. In a recent national survey, only 16% of businesses offer a plan to employees to ease the transition to retirement. In most cases, employees receive information on financial aspects of retirement, but not the social implications of this pivotal transition period. A persons career has given them social contact, recognition, a daily routine, a chance to use their skills and opportunities to be productive. The "what's next" can be daunting and uncertain for many individuals. This class sponsored by Fairfax County Dept. of Neighborhood and Community Services in partnership with GMU will provide you with tools to create a successful retirement plan that will fulfill many of these needs. Fairfax County recognized the need for educating those who are transitioning into retirement (and/ or a "next chapter" )and partnered with GMU to develop a curriculum for such an offering. The class will provide individuals with the tools needed to create a unique, individual, customized retirement plan. Your choices may include community involvement, a new career, leisure enrichment, healthy aging and lifelong learning. This class is interactive and a great opportunity to chart your own course for a successful next chapter. The class is offered in a variety of modules, totaling 8 hours of instruction. Hollin Hall Senior Center will open for self- guided activities, resource and weather emergency information. Please call the center before leaving your home for updated center information and possible cancellations: 703-765-4573 When Fairfax County Public Schools have a delayed opening: Senior Programs and Senior Centers: Senior centers will be open. There will be no transportation by FASTRAN and no lunch service at sites served by Fairfax County Public Schools. Activities prior to 10:00 am are cancelled.
