A SMP meeting was held on 09 Jan 2019 at Paige Field House. HM1 Loaiza called the meeting to order at 1330. List of those in attendance is provided on the sign in sheet (attachment 1). 2. Mr.Eddie Hadley- SMP Coordinator Last month s minutes can be found at www.mccscp.com under the recreation / SMP tab. 3. SgtMaj Meza SgtMaj MCIWest-MCB CamPen Welcome everyone to the first meeting of 2019 4. Mr. Michael Rumbaua, Bachelor Housing Manager Bachelor Housing - takes care of BAH requests, aid in inspections, and handles "no cost billeting" which refers to placing small units in BEQ. Bachelors Housing has 3 main purposes, which are: 1. BAH packages Sergeants and Corporals turn in a lot of BAH packages. Please be aware, the entire base must be at 95% or higher occupancy to allow Sergeants and Corporals to turn in and accept BAH packages. The base is currently at 65% occupancy. 2. No Cost Billing Units training in area on base are housing by Bachelor Housing. 3. Improve quality of life of the marines in the barracks There is currently a shortage of linens on base. S4 and base properly should be purchasing new linen. If you are need of furniture or linen, there are many spares from barracks being torn down contact Jay (760) 725-3918. Thieves when Marines/Sailors leave on doors saying they will be on leave for a duration of time, this is tipping off other people that you will not be in your room; which leads to people stealing items out of room. If you must leave this information, please leave it INSIDE of your room. 5. Mr. Mark Buehman, Hard Corps Race Series February 9 - Tails and Trails 4K Dog Walk - 9:00 am 12:00 pm. FREE EVENT at Lake O Neill. All leashed and friendly dogs are welcome. Registration starts at 9am, walk starts at 10am. March 16 - Shamrock Stampede 10 AM Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Air Station. 10K, 5K, or 1K kids run on the air station run way. This race is for Authorized Base Patrons only are allowed to participate. The general public, contractors and other non-base patrons with DBIDS cards are not eligible to race 5. Mr. Matt Lijewski, Frontwave Credit Union Previously known as Pacific Credit Union, provides financial education seminars to its military members. These seminars will foster effective financial management skills and enhance quality of life.

This is an individual event. Poles will be available, you may bring your own pole/reel. Jan 30 Racquetball Tournament Paige Field House. Registration 0730-0815. This tournament is an individual competition and registration is limited to one division sign up. Racquetball equipment is provided for all competitors. Feb 06 5-On-5 Tug of War Challenge 43 Area Football Field. Registration 0730-0815. Teams consist of 5 people. Teams may be Co-ed. Please see agenda and fliers for upcoming events. 5. Mr. Joe Artino, Fitness HIIT Course - Semper Fit HQMC Training Course focusing on the High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) Program. This course includes hands-on training for TRX suspension training, Olympic lifting, kettlebells, dynamic movements and more. This is a five-day course from 0800-1600 each day. Mrs. Heather Williams & Leanne Miyasaki, Human Performance Health Promotions will soon be known as Human Performance and includes services such as: fitness measurements, Resting Metabolic Rate, assistance for BCP Marines, body fat measurements, Vo2 Max testing, etc. Jan 9 th Nutrition 101 Class Nutrition and Fitness BCP, 8 hour course, must register. A FREE 1 hour class to help weight loss and learn to eat healthy. This is a great class if you need to lose weight, you re on the BCP program or just want to learn how to eat healthy. Newsletter January 2019 Advanced registration is required for all SMP trips, events & volunteer opportunities. Program events are open only to single Marine and Sailors stationed on Camp Pendleton. Participants who volunteer must register in advance with SMP HQ in order to receive a letter of appreciation. Volunteers must provide their own transportation except for PE fitness Challenge. A signed command permission slip is required for all SMP activities. All activities depart from Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg. 1253. Unless otherwise stated and require that participants utilize the provided transportation. Bravos are the requested uniform for these events. Max of 6-10 volunteers needed for each opportunity. Each event begins at 1600. 01/08 - Rancho Vista Retirement Home 01/09 - Pacific Place Retirement Home 01/30 - Fairwinds Retirement Home 01/09 & 01/30-1000 Base Stables Volunteer Day Camp Pendleton Stables, Bldg. 1516. Participants will help clean & groom horses, clean stalls, & help with general maintenance at the stables. Uniform of the day is civilian attire. Closed toed shoes are required. A maximum of 10 participants are needed for this opportunity. Participants must sign up prior to the event. Bring water! 01/25 & 02/22 PE Fitness Challenge - Volunteers will host an all-day fitness challenge at an on-base school. All volunteers must meet at Semper Fit Headquarters at 0630. Please eat breakfast before you arrive. Dress attire is the Marine Corps Running Suit with green PT shorts and plain skivvy shirt underneath. Lunch will be provided. 40 volunteers needed.
