CAP Support for the AFA Opportunity for AFA chapters to provide free CAP educator memberships as an easy, no cost outreach STEM initiative for any chapter. This one program offers chapters myriad ways to target support to formal and informal educational settings, offering program, product and positive mentorship for K-2 educators and students. Awareness of the AFA is brought to a non-choir audience, educators. Chapters can increase membership via these new educators, who may also become vibrant AEVPs. Specific program benefits follow 0

CAP Support for the AFA Free CAP Aerospace Educator Membership offers a variety of engaging STEM education, age-appropriate products aligned with National Academic Standards: K-2: numerous Aerospace Education Excellence (AEX) program books High school-college: 27 chapter comprehensive textbook, Aerospace: The Journey of Flight Middle School: six modules of Aerospace Dimensions; basic aerospace introduction K-6: Aerospace Connections in Education (ACE) curriculum And, much more. 2
CAP Support for the AFA Free CAP AE Membership includes Teacher Orientation Program (TOP) Flights: Enhance AFA educator workshops with not only free education materials, but first-hand, general aviation experience Can be flown by CAP pilots at local airports Ignite peer educator interest in STEM programs Bring public awareness of the AFA s educational component and worth to the community 3

CAP Support for the AFA K-2 Aerospace Education Excellence (AEX) Program supports the AFA Museum Initiative: All CAP educator members can participate in the free AEX program Six STEM activities and one 2-hour event complete the program Visit to aviation museum encouraged for 2-hour event Completion plaques and certificates presented to all participants AFA chapter representatives can assist in lesson instruction, museum tour coordination, and/or plaque and certificate presentations 5

CAP Support for the AFA AE Membership allows participation in Aerospace Connections in Education (ACE) program with the AFA as Presenting Sponsor K-6 CAP educator members can participate in the free ACE program Aerospace theme focuses on academics, to include STEM; character education; and physical fitness for living a healthy and drug-free lifestyle Grade-level specific curriculum aligned to national academic standards and class set of associated educational manipulatives provided ACE shirts noting the AFA s sponsorship provide team pride and positive morale; an enduring public awareness item for years AFA chapter representatives can assist in teaching lessons, arranging field trips to airports and museums, and presenting end-of-year completion plaques and student certificates (with the AFA noted as sponsor) 9
