The American Society of Civil Engineers Houston Branch Scholarship is funded solely from the ASCE Houston Branch Scholarship Fund and is awarded annually to one or more outstanding students enrolled in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering Degree Program at one of the following ASCE Houston Branch core colleges: Prairie View A&M University, Rice University, Texas Southern University, University of Houston Main Campus, & University of Houston Downtown Campus. The scholarship(s) will be awarded on the basis of overall merit, in recognition of personal student achievements, involvement with the ASCE Student Chapter, and with regard to financial responsibility. The number and value of each scholarship award will be determined upon receipt of the scholarship applications. Scholarships may range from $500 to $2,000, and the criterion requirements for the tiered dollar amount paired with the associated recipient are as follows: Who is Eligible? $2,000.00 Award: The candidate applying for the $2,000 scholarship award must meet all the following qualifications to be considered: 1. At the time of application, the candidate must be from one of the following categories: Non-Graduating College Senior Graduating Senior returning for Graduate Studies Non-Graduating Graduate Student 2. The candidate must have full-time student status (12 credit hours) during the 2018-2019 Fall & Spring Semesters. 3. The candidate must have full-time student status during the upcoming Fall Semester (2019-2020 academic year) if they are expected to graduate in December 2019. 4. The candidate must be a current member in good standing of the ASCE Student Chapter. 5. The candidate must be willing to participate in an interview with the selection committee. 6. The candidate must be enrolled in ABET accredited Civil Engineering Degree Program at one of the following ASCE Houston Branch core colleges: Prairie View A&M University, Rice University, Texas Southern University, University of Houston Main Campus, & University of Houston Downtown Campus, University of Texas @ Tyler Houston Campus.
