A Jain Social Charitable Organisation PROJECT REPORT A PROJECT OF AKHIL BHARTIYA TERAPANTH YUVAK PARISHAD For Service To Mankind...

Terapanth is a religious section under Shwetamber Jainism. It was founded by Acharya Shri Bhikshu on 28th June 1760 at Kelwa, a small town in Udaipur District of Rajasthan State in India. This section is entirely based upon the ideology of Jainism. Acharya Shri Tulsi, the 9th Terapanth Acharya, was a great visionary and implemented many innovative programmes and scheme to uplift the mental, moral and emotional status of the entire mankind at large. He had the unique quality to translate his vision into actual practice. He was the founder of Anuvrat and Jain Vishwa Bharti Institute Ladnun. Acharya Shri Mahashraman, the 11th supreme head of Terapanth is epitome of knowledge, humbleness and simplicity. He is currently undertaking Ahimsa Yatra through length and breadth of the country propagating its three facets i.e. morality, brotherhood and de-addiction. th ABTYP was founded on 17 September 1964 by Acharya Tulsi and its aim is to make youth of terapanth as better citizens of tomorrow. ABTYP is instrumental in streamlining youth s energy in making the society progressive and helping the needy. ABTYP is registered under society registration act 588/83-84 Dt. 30/03/1984 & NGO unique ID DL/2012/0048117. With 341 branches and more than 40,000 members all over India and Nepal, ABTYP has embarked upon the mission of starting Medical Facilities to reduce the cost of diagnosis for the public. Through this mission, it will be serving the healthcare segment of the society. The Proposed Centers would be named as ACHARYA TULSI DIAGNOSTIC CENTERS (ATDC). ABTYP has three Motives SEVA, SANSKAR, SANGHATAN. Acharya Tulsi Diagnostic centers will be a project in the field of SEVA for Service to mankind. The proposed centers will be a permanent and ongoing social service project with a long lasting impact on service to mankind. These centers will provide facilities like PATHOLOGY Tests, ECG, Dental Care, Ultrasound Scanning, X-ray & Dialysis at a very reasonable cost. These centers will be setup and maintained by respective TYP under the guidance of ABTYP. These modern diagnosis centers will be equipped with state of art equipments with total quality control. This project is a NO PROFIT NO LOSS Project. OBJECTIVES Today Health Care is the most important field of service to the mankind, and it will be provided by us at an affordable cost to people. Right diagnosis is very important for correct and effective cure of diseases. This project will create a very positive goodwill and image of our Terapanth Sangh and ABTYP will have good reputation as a NGO for social service. People in small towns and villages will be utmost benefitted from such Diagnostic centers as these facilities are not easily available in such places.

PLANNING AND BASIC REQUIREMENTS Identify the location where this service is most required. Raise funds through sponsors & events for setting up diagnostic center. Make a Trust Deed in the name of TYP and get it registered for smooth functioning of the centres. Appoint a service minded team of Medical & Non-Medical people. Involve Jain doctors and pathologists, if possible. Area of approx.400 Sq. ft. - 1200 Sq. ft. The area would be preferred at a prime public location nearby a hospital at ground or first floor with easy access to the patients. Further TYP should ensure that they get the premises for a lease term of at least 3 years or more. Registration of TYP under Societies Act and Income Tax Act is mandatory for the branches desirous of opening the Diagnostic Center. 2 trained Lab Technicians and 2 assistants for the Pathology Lab and other technicians (The manpower requirement will change as operations are expanded). Pathologist ( Doctor ) to certify the reports. GUIDELINES FOR EXECUTION OF PROJECT ABTYP suggests the TYP to form a management team of seven members including president and secretary of TYP for smooth functioning of the diagnostic center. A team shall be constituted by ABTYP to assess and audit the over-all execution of the diagnostic center periodically. The centre should report their progress to ABTYP on timely basis. Periodicity of the same will be decided by ABTYP. Finance management, Quality of patient reports and any other Legal matters are sole responsibilities of the TYP of the respective diagnostic center. The revenue generated by the diagnostic center to be utilized only for the improvement of the diagnostic center and cannot be utilized for any other purposes by TYP. Prepare a tariff of all the service charges (According to the area) and submit the same to ABTYP. ABTYP SUPPORT The draft trust deed for the TYP which are yet to be registered. Interiors and layouts of labs. Machinery/Equipments may be purchased centrally (optional). Software mandatorily to be purchase centrally Designs of Logo, Stationery, Display boards. Designs of staff uniform. Assistance to local TYP in recruitment of technical team. EXECUTION We would progress with executing the diagnostic center Phase wise as this is first of a kind project for our team. The different Phases are explained below- Phase - 1 Pathology Lab, ECG Phase - 2 Dental Clinic, Radiology Dept. (X-Ray, Ultrasound Scanning) Phase - 3 Dialysis Centre, Day Care Centre, Pharmacy, Counseling Centres.

PHASE I 1. Raise funds for the diagnostic center according to the budget, also keeping in mind other expenses. (Maintenance Expenses). 2. Appoint the management team for the diagnostic center who will be in charge of the day-to-day activities of the center. 3. Obtain the following licenses from the government authorities such as Trade License, Registration with the Government Medical Office, Pollution Control Board Certificate, M e d i c a l Waste Management Certificate and any other registration required by the local/state authorities. 4. Identify the premises and setup the interiors. The place identified should be large enough to accommodate future expansions of the diagnostic centers into Dental Clinic and Dialysis Center. Place should be identified nearby govt. or private hospitals where there is public footfall. For Phase 1 we would require approximately 400 Sq. ft., for future expansion, we need at least 1200 Sq. ft. in total. 5. Recruit the following staff : Lab Technician - 2 (DMLT), Assistant Lab Technicians - 2, Pathologist -1, Manager -1, House Keeping - 2. 6. Identify the vendor (Company and Make), and setup the equipment for the Pathology Lab. Phase-1 involves documentation, registration and setting up of the center. If we start only with the pathology lab in the first Phase, work will be easy and simple because pathology lab requires only one pathologist who can verify the reports. PHASE II 1. After setting up Phase 1, it is easy to expand towards dental care. Plan and purchase a Dental Chair and allied peripherals. Appoint a Dentist. 2. Setup X-Ray, Ultrasound Scanning. In Phase 1 and 2 we should have a gap of 6 months which will allow the management to setup and to adjust to the basic functionalities of the lab. PHASE III 1. Appoint a general physician who can treat patients for general problems. Physician can play a very important role in the success of the diagnostic center. If the physician is popular in the surrounding areas, he or she can draw lot of patients which in turn will create more footfall and generate more tests & procedures in the diagnostic center. 2. Setup the Pharmacy. Revenue from Pharmacy can be used to compensate discounts given on diagnostic tests. 3. Set up a Dialysis Center. This will serve as a basic first step towards the treatment of kidney patients which is in huge demand in the country and is not affordable for the masses. This project is a one of its kind project in the history of Terapanth. ABTYP will lend all support and guidance required for setting up the diagnostic centers. We look forward for your active participation and interest in this genuine social service project. The TYP interested in commencing the diagnostic centers are requested to inform the same to the President ABTYP.
