Meet the Coach Amanda Laws is Emmanuel s Head Women s Lacrosse Coach. Previously, she spent two seasons as a Division I assistant coach at the University of New Hampshire, helping the Wildcats to two American East Tournament appearances. She also coached lacrosse at the club and high school levels. Laws served as head coach of the Nor easter Lacrosse Club from 2005-2007 and as the head coach of the Medford High School girl s lacrosse team in 2004. While at Medford, she led the Mustangs to a program record for wins in a season and to the program s first-ever state tournament appearance. As a player, Laws was a standout goalie at Yale University. During her senior season, the All-Ivy League selection guided the eighth-ranked Bulldogs to a conference championship and a spot in the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament. Laws earned a bachelor s degree in psychology from Yale in 2003. She also holds a master s degree in sport studies from the University of New Hampshire, and another from Boston College in mental health counseling. Facilities The Saints home venue is unlike any in Boston. The team plays on the brand-new synthetic turf field at Roberto Clemente Field, located across the street from Emmanuel s campus. With its open-stadium design and the city s skyline as its backdrop, Clemente Field makes for a unique playing experience. The facility is outfitted with new MUSCO lighting, scoreboard and plenty of spectator seating. In addition, the Saints have access to a state-of-the-art training facility in the Jean Yawkey Center and a new film room for game tape review and scouting. The St. Joseph Hall Fitness Center is updated with new platforms, racks, free weights, plate-loaded equipment and a separate cardio room. I had the distinct honor and pleasure to coach Amanda at Yale University. Based on her work ethic and character, I have no doubt the Emmanuel College women s lacrosse program will find much success and graduate young women ready to be positive role models for future student-athletes. -Amanda O Leary Head Women s Lacrosse Coach, University of Florida
