CLSA-NALS 2019 CONFERENCE MARCH 23-26, 2019 Welcome The CLSA-NALS Conference is upon us. This year the Conference will be held March 23-26, 2019 at the Silver Legacy in Reno, NV. The Silver Legacy Combining Nevada s turn-of-the-century silver mining heritage with state-of-the-art architecture and unrivaled entertainment theming, Silver Legacy Resort & Casino is northern Nevada s most spectacular must see property. Setting new standards for northern Nevada, Silver Legacy showcases the world s largest composite dome, measuring 180 feet in diameter. A unique environment is created using the latest in lighting, sound, and special effects technology. The interior of the dome, an astounding 75,000 square feet, reflects the dramatic skies of Reno, and depicts an entire day from sunrise to sunset. The indoor sky is one of the largest indoor murals ever painted. Encompassing over two blocks in the heart of downtown Reno, Silver Legacy features 1,720 guest rooms and suites. With dark woods, marble floors and rich, vibrant carpeting, the elegant and refined Resort Casino has six uniquely themed restaurants. Of course, Silver Legacy also features the finest in gaming, with 85,000 square feet of gaming space, including the newly renovated Race & Sportsbook, two Keno lounges, 80 table games and 2,500 slot machines. Grand Prize Drawing This year s Grand Prize will be an ipad. The Grand Prize Drawing will be held at the Closing Ceremonies on Tuesday, March 26th. Tickets for the Grand Prize Drawing are limited to Conference full-paid registrants. Winners must be present at the Closing Ceremony. Scholarship Auction Monday, March 25 th The Scholarship Auction continues to be a highlight of the Conference. There s something for everyone at the auction and best of all, all proceeds support surveying education. Proceeds will benefit the CLSA and NALS Education Foundations. Vendors, Chapters, and individual members donate items ranging from older (we prefer the term historic ) survey equipment to gift baskets. To donate an item to the Scholarship Auction, please visit the conference website PLSeducation.org and click on Auction. Bowling Tournament Saturday, March 23rd The Bowling Tournament will be held on Saturday evening, March 23rd at the National Bowling Stadium. The fun event provides a great opportunity to socialize with fellow members and raise funds for surveying education. Space is limited, so register early. Registration form will be available beginning in February on the conference website: PLSeducation.org Student Sponsorships Student volunteers provide support to the conference. Students have an opportunity to attend sessions, and gain insight and knowledge of the surveying industry. Student volunteers also have an excellent opportunity to form relationships within the surveying profession and network with conference attendees who will become their colleagues. Student volunteers are provided registration, lunches, room accommodations and travel reimbursement. Please consider sponsoring a student.
