Boise State University University Financial Services Title: Description: Context: Project Financial Management Work Area Explanation This is a map providing the explanation of each field in the Project Financial Management work area. The Project Financial Management area has two areas of information available to you. Project Overview has three tabs and Manage Project Plan has two additional tabs for your information. ***If the image is too small, please log-in and view the system screens*** Projects Financial Management Project Overview - Overview 1. Project Name 2. Project Number 3. The Tasks pane Project Planning area allows you to click on Projects Overview (default page) or Manage Project Plan for review. 4. Track Project Progress is a function we are not currently utilizing but is available for review. 5. This is the Project Overview Overview 6. The Project Manager is the OSP Sponsored tab. Projects Administrator. 7. The Project Status real-time. 8. The Project Start Date is the first date on which transactions can be processed. This will typically match the pre-award date on the Financial tab of the Details train stop in the Award area. 9. The Project Finish Date is the last date for activity on the project and will typically be 15 days prior to the due date of the final financial report or invoice. 11. The Project Unit with default to IDBSU Project Unit. 10. The Project Type will show either sponsored or internal (match or program income). 12. The Organization is the cost center that represents the Purpose of the project. It
will be one of four options: a. 1001001 Instruction b. 1001004 Research c. 1001006 Other Sponsored Activity d. 1001011 Academic Support 13. The Business Unit defaults to IDBSU 14. The Customer is the sponsoring agency. 15. The Overall Health will indicate if 16. This is an aditional indicator displaying spending is in line with time elapsed. 17. Clicking the Chevron will expand the Additional Information area to show the Revenue Account code for the project; these vary based on the funding. a. 334100 Federal or Federal flow through sponsored revenue. b. 335100 State of Idaho sponsored revenue. c. 336100 Local Entity sponsored revenue. d. 337100 Miscellaneous Sponsored Revenue. e. 338100 Private Sponsored Revenue f. 391000 Other Educational Activity Revenue g. 375500 Miscellaneous Income 19. The Team Members will be listed here. a. Project Manager SPA. b. Project Team Member PI, co-pis, department all administrators, and additional individuals as requested. sponsored or internal funding. 18. For all research awards (organization 1001004) and NSF Research Code should have been determined during the award acceptance period and will be populated here. This information is used for reporting. This column lists the Task Numbers for tasks that are associated with the project. 5. The Planned Finish Date is the last date on 2. Projects Financial Management Manage Project Plan Tasks 1. This is the Manage Project Plan landing page. 3. This column lists the Task Numbers for tasks that are associated with the project. There will be three or four tasks for converted projects and two tasks for new projects. a. 100001 All non-tagable expenditures will post here. b. 100002 All tagable expenditures need to post here. 5. This will not be available on converted projects. 11. The Details functionality is not currently used. 13. The Baseline Creation Details show when the budget baseline was created and by whom. 2.
