In 2016/17 Sage Gateshead delivered: 451 Concerts 10,609 Workshops 112 Conferences & Events About the role Each year Sage Gateshead has over 500,000 people come into our building, 50,000 people attend live events beyond our building and 2 million people engage with our work via digital and broadcast content. Our audience is diverse and has both a high level of new attenders each year and a core of extremely frequent attenders. We are 14 years old and have a new vision for the next phase of our life, working together with Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts and 8 other venues in NewcastleGateshead to increase cultural engagement, establish the region as a great place to be an artist and build social and economic value for the North of England. Overall purpose of the job Sage Gateshead s Fundraising Team is seeking an ambitious and skilled digital and community fundraiser to help shape and drive forward our digital fundraising and community engagement and events programme. The role has two key components: digital fundraising and community fundraising to contribute towards Sage Gateshead s fundraising targets. The role will help generate fundraising income for revenue activities across Sage Gateshead s Classical, Popular and Contemporary and Creative Learning programmes. In addition during 2018-2020 it will also support a 2m capital development programme, designed to encourage new audiences to Sage Gateshead. Main duties and responsibilities Digital Fundraising: Using your specialist knowledge and experience you will help shape and drive forward Sage Gateshead s digital fundraising strategy as part of the organisation's strategic aims. You will lead and manage all digital fundraising activities across all digital channels, advising on best practice and ensuring optimisation across core online fundraising journeys. You will plan and deliver fundraising campaigns across a range of digital channels including Facebook, Twitter and email with the aim of increasing Sage Gateshead s fundraising income from memberships, appeals and fundraising events. Digital fundraising responsibilities will include: 1. Creating engaging integrated digital fundraising communications (e-comms, web content, video content, social media) in order to increase fundraising income from individuals, businesses and the wider community. 2. Planning and delivering fundraising campaigns across a range of digital channels including Facebook, Twitter, Just Giving/Virgin Money Giving and email with the aim of increasing Sage Gateshead s fundraising income from memberships, appeals and fundraising events. 3. Liaising with Sage Gateshead s wider Marketing Team to ensure digital fundraising methods such as pay per click, paid social media, display, email and SMS is integrated into the organisations wider marketing strategy

Digital technology/data responsibilities will include: 1. Providing fundraising campaign reports, web and social media analysis and evaluation, drawing conclusions and making recommendations for future fundraising activity. 2. Proposing new digital solutions and opportunities to drive our fundraising initiatives forward, highlighting examples of good practice within the charity sector 3. Making recommendations and overseeing the implementation of digital fundraising online and in venue payments systems e.g. the introduction of contactless technology, new digital and mobile donation opportunities 4. Implementing and overseeing the use of donation platforms for fundraising campaigns and appeals e.g. Just Giving/Virgin Money Giving 5. Creating web content and populating web pages to provide integrated digital fundraising messages across Sage Gateshead s website and social media channels 6. Ensuring that all of our digital donations are accurately recorded and integrated with our CRM system (Tessitura) Community Fundraising: Using your clear people skills, passion and enthusiasm for music and appreciation of the opportunities for learning and enjoyment that a music charity, like Sage Gateshead brings, you will engage with a broad range of individuals, businesses and community groups in securing donations for Sage Gateshead. Community fundraising responsibilities will include: 1. Assisting with the administration, planning and delivery of a broad range of community fundraising events from auctions, to opera evenings, quiz s, partner concerts and dinners 2. Assisting with the front line selling of tickets/tables, managing the invitation process, briefing guest speakers, ensuring risk assessments are implemented and all events comply with health and safety and legal requirements 3. Servicing corporate partners event requirements as part of their corporate sponsorship agreements including liaising with front of house and food and beverage teams to ensure room hire, food and beverage requirements and complimentary tickets are in place 4. General administration, invoicing and co-ordination of payments from individuals, businesses and community groups in relation to community fundraising activities 5. Developing best practice procedures for recording fundraising income from community events on our CRM system (Tessitura) 6. Assisting in the net growth of income through the overall success of a range of community fundraising activities and events
