At a Glance Your Chance to Connect With Today s Students and Tomorrow s Leaders If you want to connect with more than 700 students, faculty, leaders in the historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) community, funding experts, sponsors, alumni and member institutions of the country s largest and most effective African American education organization UNCF (United Negro College Fund), this is your chance. The 2013 UNCF Leadership Conference is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with key decision makers and engage students who are on the path to leadership. Your involvement in this combined conference is an opportunity to demonstrate a commitment to education now and in the future. NATIONAL ALUMNI COUNCIL (NAC) The National Alumni Council (NAC) is a sponsored organization of UNCF founded in 1946 to foster, influence, strengthen and safeguard the existence of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). To date, there are more than 400,000 graduates of UNCF institutions. The NAC endeavors to accomplish its mission by: Raising funds for UNCF institutions Assisting in recruiting students for member colleges and universities Informing the public of the value of HBCUs and the contribution of their alumni National Pre-Alumni Council (NPAC) Today they represent more than 55,000 students currently enrolled at UNCFmember HBCUs. Tomorrow they will be the next generation of college-educated professionals, ready to lead and to make their mark in the economy and the community. INSTITUTE FOR CAPAPCITY BUILDING (ICB) The Institute for Capacity Building will convene practitioners and content experts to engage in focused discussions about their practices and the range of issues, challenges and opportunities attendant to their work at minority-serving institutions. The conference features a broad range of HBCU presidents, key administrators, foundation officers, and education experts, part of UNCF s $30 million initiative that for five years has been helping students move to and through college. The conference will also feature best-practices and tools these institutions can use to increase productivity and effectiveness in three critical areas of the academic enterprise: enrollment management, institutional advancement and fiscal and strategic technical assistance.
