NATIONAL ALUMNI COUNCIL (NAC) The National Alumni Council (NAC) is a sponsored organization of UNCF founded in 1946 to foster, influence, strengthen and safeguard the existence of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). To date, there are more than 400,000 graduates of UNCF institutions. The NAC endeavors to accomplish its mission by: Raising funds for UNCF institutions Assisting in recruiting students for member colleges and universities Informing the public of the value of HBCUs and the contribution of their alumni National Pre-Alumni Council (NPAC) Today they represent more than 55,000 students currently enrolled at UNCFmember HBCUs. Tomorrow they will be the next generation of college-educated professionals, ready to lead and to make their mark in the economy and the community. INSTITUTE FOR CAPAPCITY BUILDING (ICB) The Institute for Capacity Building will convene practitioners and content experts to engage in focused discussions about their practices and the range of issues, challenges and opportunities attendant to their work at minority-serving institutions. The conference features a broad range of HBCU presidents, key administrators, foundation officers, and education experts, part of UNCF s $30 million initiative that for five years has been helping students move to and through college. The conference will also feature best-practices and tools these institutions can use to increase productivity and effectiveness in three critical areas of the academic enterprise: enrollment management, institutional advancement and fiscal and strategic technical assistance.
