(Dec. 2 nd to Dec.8 th 2018) ISSUE 79 Construction Skill Development Council Of India NEWSWEEKLY A Weekly Newsletter brought to you by CSDCI In a significant step towards RPL TYPE 4, Construction Sector Skill Council signed an MoU with Wave Infratech for training and certification of 4500 construction workers. The intent of the association is to certify the existing skilled construction workers with Wave Infratech under RPL TYPE 4 Best in Class Employer. The MoU was signed by Col. Anand - CEO, CSDCI and CEO, Wave Infratech. CEO, CSDCI participated in industry engagement program organised by JSDM on 5 th December at New Delhi. Through the engagement, Government aims to bring key stakeholders together to deliberate, build consensus, and develop a road map for future course of action with an objective of developing Jharkhand a skilled manpower hub. In a significant development Mr. Virendra Sharma, Director skills, MoRD has been nominated by MoRD to be part of Governing Council of CSDCI.
CSDCI participated in 3 days Rozgar Mela cum Skill Exhibition organised by NSDC at Patna, Bihar from 4 th 6 th December. The Event was inaugurated by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad Hon ble Union Minister for Law and Justice & Information Technology, Government of India. Minister of state for rural development Shri Ram Kripal Yadav gave away offer letter to 100 youths on the concluding day of a three-day Rozgar Mela at Pataliputra ground. Total 42 candidates were registered in this Rozgar Mela and 23 candidates were shortlisted by Technoculture Building Centre Pvt. Ltd for Construction Sector. The team comprising the Training Partners and Employers spent three days on the ground, meeting jobseekers and counselled them on the employment opportunities in the construction industry.
A coordination meeting was organised at CSDCI office of training partner on 6 th December. All aspects & process of implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission program was discussed and deliberated. The points included in EOI of the proposal was also consulted with TPs & their views were taken. CEO, attended the meeting organised by MSDE on 7 th December. Following points were brought by CSDCI during the meeting: Categorisation of job roles - All job roles of construction sector be included in category I. Placement/recruitment Partners - It is suggested that Placement/Recruitment partners be affiliated as separate entity for placement & tracking of placements records of trained candidates under government schemes. These agencies can be paid 20% of the training cost being paid to training partners on placements under PMKVY. If Training of candidates are carried out at site under actual conditions, training hours for introductory job roles ( NSQF leve2 & 3), can be reduced to 160-200 hours Common norms rates should be published in March every year for the next Financial Year. Ms. Jancy Mathew, GM- Standard & Research attended a meeting organised by Vocational department of NIOS for updation of the 'CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION' course, on 6 th December 2018.
