THE CONFEDERED TRIBES OF WARM SPRINGS WASHANAKSHA GRANT GUIDELINES The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Washanaksha Cultural Coalition is seeking grant applications for projects and activities for the Fiscal Year of 2019. Grant funding is sponsored by The Oregon Cultural Trust which provides funding to Oregon County groups and Tribes to support the arts and heritage. The Oregon Cultural Trust is a public funded program and the funding is to benefit all Tribal Members, Other Indians, and Residents of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. The fiscal sponsor is The Museum At Warm Springs. The Washanaksha Board must support projects and activities that address one of the following four priorities outlined within the Warm Springs Washanaksha Cultural Plan: 1. Promote Tribal Member and Residents' understanding of and involvement in cultural activities, traditions, arts, language, dance, history, music, etc. 2. Pass on Tribal knowledge and practices to our youth and help them feel connected to their culture. 3. Preserve, Practice, and Teach our Tribal Languages: Ichishkin, Numu, and Kiksht. 4. Support the work of our artists and traditional teachers, including their ability to earn a living from their work. Grant Awards: The maximum grant award is $1,200. The Washanaksha Board wants to make awards to as many applicants as possible. Eligibility: Applications will be accepted from: The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Tribal Members The Confederate Tribes of Warm Springs Programs and Committees Residents of The Warm Springs Indian Reservation Warm Springs Community Organizations Grants to Tribal Members who reside on The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Indian Reservation will be considered first. Any remaining funding will be awarded to applicants from the other three eligible groups. Prior grant recipients must have submitted all reports required by the Washanaksha Cultural Coalition before applying for this years grant. Projects Must Be Completed In 7 Months. Project Completion Must Occur By Friday, September 6th 2019. 3 3

THE CONFEDERED TRIBES OF WARM SPRINGS WASHANAKSHA GRANT GUIDELINES: REQUIREMENTS The grant is to be used solely for your project that you will describe in your proposal. Please comply with reasonable request from the Washanaksha Cultural Coalition for information about program activities. The Following Are Requirements For This Grant: Publicity Cooperate with any efforts of the Washanaksha Cultural Coalition to publicize the grant award. Grant Recipient Award Reception Held at The Museum At Warm Springs, Education Room Date and Time To Be Announced. Reports A Final Report of the completed program will need to answer all the questions and request regarding the project or activity. Final Reports must be turned in on deadline in order for the Oregon Cultural Trust Fund to continue funding future Washanaksha Grant projects and activities. Below is a schedule of the grant period: Beginning Date For Project & Activities Completion Date For Project & Activities Final Report Due: Friday, March 1st 2019 Friday, September 6th 2019 Friday, September 20th 2019 12:00am BY 11:00pm BY 5:00pm Use of Grant Funds Use the grant funds as specified towards the program in the approved grant proposal. Maintain your records to show and account for the uses of grant funds. These expenditures must be included in the Final Report. Payment Schedule Unless otherwise agreed by the Washanaksha Cultural Coalition, the grant award shall be processed when grant recipients have been selected. Checks are scheduled to be distributed in February 2019. Special Conditions The following special conditions apply to this grant award: The State of Oregon Cultural Trust is a public funded program and the funding is to benefit all Tribal Members, Other Indians, and Residents of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. 4 4

THE CONFEDERED TRIBES OF WARM SPRINGS WASHANAKSHA GRANT FINAL REPORT FORM REPORTS MUST BE TYPED All grant recipients must submit a Final Report to The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Washanaksha Coalition by Friday, September 20h, 2019 at The Museum At Warm Springs by 5:00pm. The report must describe the project or activity, the results, and specific details about how the grant funds were used. Please understand Final Reports must be turned in on deadline in order for the Oregon Cultural Trust Fund to continue funding future Washanaksha Grant projects. THE CONFEDERED TRIBES OF WARM SPRINGS Washanaksha an Ichishkin word. It means that something is important, you take it in heart, spirit, and mind and are committed to carrying it forward no matter what. Our culture, tribal and family history, dance, art, ceremonies, music, and traditional practices are the foundation of our identity for each tribe and each tribal member. The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Cultural Trust Committee chose this name because it communicates the highest purpose of their effort. 10
