WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS OCTOBER 26, 2017 Page 2 of 7 CONSTRUCTION UPDATES NORCO VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER Weekend construction has been authorized at the Norco Village Shopping Center, located at River Road and Corydon Avenue, on Saturday, October 28, starting no earlier than 8:00 a.m. and ending no later than 6:00 p.m. Please make necessary arrangements with household members or animals. ADVISORY COUNCIL UPDATES ADVISE & CONSENT At its meeting of October 24, the Economic Development Advisory Council (EDAC) discussed new potential projects for the coming year, which included convening focus groups of local businesspeople to identify needs and concerns in the business community, and creating a database of shooting locations to enhance Norco s role in the entertainment industry. EDAC also approved the selection of the honorees of the Business Appreciation Initiative for the next several months: Thrifty Horse (November 2017), Silverado (December 2017), Hidden Valley Golf Club & Villa Amalfi Ristorante (January 2018), and Browning Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (February 2018). UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS NORCO CERTIFIED FARMERS MARKET Mark your calendars and get ready for the new Norco Certified Farmers Market, presented by Heritage Education Group, which will take place every Sunday, beginning on October 29, at the Norco Community Center from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Spread the exciting news to your family, friends and neighbors, and stay tuned for more information! COMING SOON TO THE EVENT CENTER: November 4 th : Riverside K9 Sheriff Trials at the Arena Level RECREATION/COMMUNITY SERVICE UPDATES SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY CLEANUP EVENT On Saturday, October 21, the City of Norco partnered with Waste Management and the Riverside Department of Waste Resources to host a free Community Clean-Up event for residents of Norco. Cars, trucks, and vans lined up at the George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center to dispose of trash, green waste, and E-waste. With the assistance of the Norco City Council, City staff, Waste Management staff and volunteers from JustServe.org, this was a very successful event.

Don Sharp at 951-955-2629 or dsharp@riversidesheriff.org FIRE REPORT On October 24, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department, along with units from Corona Fire Department, responded to a report of a residential structure fire with smoke coming from the rear of the structure on the 3000 block of Sierra Avenue. The first arriving engine company reported multiple vehicles and a conex container burning. Firefighters conducted a defensive fire attack the fire was quickly contained and limited to the rear of the property. No damage to the residence was sustained.
