Accelerating Opportunity at ICC will prepare students to enter the workforce with careerready skills; Accelerating Opportunity at ICC will also foster habits of mind and lifelong learning that students will need to advance and grow along a sustainable career path.
Recruiting AO students from a Nursing Assistant class scheduled in Summer 2013. Students applied to become participants. Using rubric to determine eligibility. Interviewing eligible students. Having students sign contract. Assisting students to identify career path, develop a career plan, and understand the benefit of stackable credentials.
ICC Nursing Assistant Program is participating in a statewide program designed to help students: Succeed in the Program Complete the Program with great career skills Improve everyday reading and math scores Become lifelong learners who advance and grow along a sustainable career path.
Participants must: Enroll in the evening section that meets Mon thru Thur, 3pm to 9pm at the Downtown Campus Participate in KeyTrain and Career Readiness 101 training online Attend class tutoring sessions as outlined on attached schedule Adhere to strict attendance guidelines

AO will help you to realize where your strengths are! AO will improve your study habits! Once you get to know yourself a little better, you will want to be a lifelong learner!
Accelerating Opportunity does NOT pay for tuition Each student will be responsible for paying for tuition on their own or through Financial Aid
What if I participate in AO, but I still don t pass with a 70% or higher? Hopefully, this will not happen! But, if it does, you will still be reimbursed for covered expenses up to the point of clinical.
