Lineworker Pre-Apprenticeship Application Mission: The Lineworker Pre-Apprenticeship is a program to assist emerging youth in their efforts to prepare for a career as an Electric Lineworker. Participant Criteria: Must be a high school senior during the 2018-2019 school year o Must be 18 by June 1, 2019 to participate in summer work opportunity OR o Must be 18 by October 1, 2019 to participate in fall work opportunity Must attend high school in Johnston County (public, charter, private, or homeschool) Must participate in all sessions if selected Must submit application to school Career Development Coordinator (CDC) by October 1, 2018 (Please type or use an ink pen to print legibly.) Application Submission Scenario #1 Student submits application at school: (preferred and most likely scenario) Applicant should submit completed application to the school s Career Development Coordinator (CDC) CDC will submit application to the Career & Technical Education (CTE) office CTE office will forward a copy of the application to all four participating towns (Benson, Clayton, Selma, Smithfield) Town(s) will communicate and decide to which applicants they will offer opportunities Consortium will provide the CTE office with a list of students participating in the Senior year education hours Each Town will provide the CTE office with a list of students participating in summer work hours Application Submission Scenario #2 Student submits application to a town: Applicant submits completed application to his/her Town Town will submit a copy of the application to the CTE office CTE office will forward a copy of the application to all four participating towns (Benson, Clayton, Selma, Smithfield) Town(s) will communicate and decide to which applicants they will offer opportunities Following these uniform procedures will ensure that no applications are lost and that we have record of the number of program applicants.
