Mindy Lincicome, Treasurer treasurer@lwptsa.net Treasurer s Report Dec. 2016 Monthly report for November 2016* Starting balance (11/1/16): $52,668.38 Ending balance (10/31/16): $65,285.08 Items of note: *Scholarship assessments and membership fees coming in *This report is preliminary using 11/29/16 balances if these balances are different from the true month-end, an amended report will be presented in January.
Treasurer s Report Dec. 2016 Action Items: 1. Please turn in your scholarship assessments there are still 13 outstanding. 2. Your Charitable Solicitations registration may be updated once the 990 is complete (you don t have to wait til May).

Get ready! Mid-year financial review: (January or February) Best practice: a mid-year financial review be conducted. The committee is appointed by the president. This committee must consist of: a) no fewer than three members of the PTA whose books/records are being reviewed; or b) a qualified accountant. Questions? New Business Proposed Scholarship Budget Changes No net difference in $ amount or number of scholarships Make allocation of scholarships more equitable Diversify the type of student who wins our scholarships Do some clarification on scholarship names
Proposed Changes: Scholarship Budget 1. Change from 1 designated scholarship per graduating class (7 schools) to 2 designated scholarships per learning community (2 x 4 learning communities= 8 awards) 2. Remove names from 3 at-large scholarships (names didn t influence award criteria) 3. Create 2 at-large scholarships for accomplishments in areas beyond academic achievement 4. Put name on the Jackie Pendergrass scholarship that was accidentally omitted 5. Continue named scholarships that carry specific criteria and/or are funded by restricted donations
