Tasks for Sophomores included completing an Academic SMART goal and adding colleges they were interested in to a list. 2017 DIVERSITY CONFERENCE On October 26th, Ms. Carter and Mrs. Robinson escorted 26 of our current and emerging campus leaders to the 2017 Diversity Conference. The theme of this year's conference was "Humanity is our Race, Love is our Religion". The goal of the conference is to help students understand and gain an appreciation for the diverse populations present on our campus. We are excited about the ideas this group has for spreading that message around campus and look forward to sharing them with you in the future! Our first activity will be Culture Day on November 16th. We encourage all staff and students to participate. SENIOR NEWS Counselors submitted everything to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for our 7 National Merit Semi-Finalists. Counselors were also busy sending the required documents to the colleges for all of the deadlines, especially November 1st. Additionally, students who were already accepted to college were celebrated by receiving an Accepted t-shirt. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted and we look forward to celebrating even more students as they receive their acceptance letters! PAGE 3
