Overview of the current position An increasing demand on inpatient beds at New Cross arising from unplanned and emergency admissions. Continuing uncertainty for patients arising from; Delays in admission from the Emergency Department and Assessment Units Moves between wards Delays in seeing the right consultants Delays in discharge Cancellation of operations Delays in having your operation, once you re admitted And, sometimes we don t get it right leading to poor care and experience An opportunity to change how services are delivered when RWT acquires Cannock Chase Hospital
Planned Care at Cannock Chase how we developed our proposals Senior doctors at RWT have led the process of developing our plans. Listened to patients either formally through complaints or informally when they talk to our doctors and nurses about the added stress and inconvenience it brings to them and their families when their admission is cancelled often at short notice. We looked at clinical models that worked well in other parts of the country and abroad to see how we could do things differently. Took the opportunity of delivering services at Cannock Chase Hospital to benefit the patients of Wolverhampton and other areas who currently use our services.
