Course Overview The primary goal of this course is to educate health care professionals to new advances in the perioperative management of cancer patients through lectures, didactic discussions and workshops. Target Audience Physicians, Nurse Anesthetists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other Healthcare Professionals. Educational Objectives Identify specific concerns of the cancer patient and of various surgical procedures Methods of perioperative pain management for adults and pediatric patients Role of an enhanced recovery program Effects of anesthesia on memory and cognition in pediatric patients Management of the difficult airway after radiation and surgery Use of TTE as an adjunct monitoring tool, use of the FATE protocol Postoperative emergencies and critical issues New issues in ambulatory anesthesia ACCREDITATION STATEMENT (MSKCC) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. AMA CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The AMA has determined that physicians not licensed in the United States but who participate in this CME activity are eligible for 8.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. EVALUATION A course evaluation survey sent out electronically will provide attendees with the opportunity to review the sessions and the speakers and to identify future educational needs. OUTCOMES MEASUREMENT SURVEY Six months after the end of the course, an Outcomes Measurement survey will be sent to all participants to help us determine what positive impacts have been made on participant practice as a result of the course.
