The number of total eligible population decreased to 150,556 and the total number of closings held as of April 8 increased to 127,096. Housing Assistance Center Activity A total of 8 RHAS appointments were held at the Baton Rouge Housing Assistance Office for the reporting week. As of April 8, 2009, 891 RHAS appointments were conducted by HGI. Of these applicants, 54,226 (43 percent) were documented as LMI. A total of $8,423,600,706 in Homeowner Assistance Program awards were disbursed as of April 8, 2010. Of these disbursements, (53 percent) went to applicants documented as LMI 6

Number of Applications Weekly Situation & Pipeline Report Elevation Program Activity As of April 8, 2009, 115,534 elevation letters have been sent to applicants. 34,490 (30%) applicants have returned letters expressing their interest in participating in the elevation program. 32,000 applicants are eligible and interested in receiving elevation awards. 29,781 applicants have received elevation disbursements totaling $863,064,671 (average elevation award of $28,947). 4,736 initial and 23,138 additional disbursements of elevation funds from March 2008 through the present for a total of $811,583,784. 1,906 initial and 674 additional disbursements previously from program inception through current total of $51,480,887. 195 elevation requests for a total of $5,725,882 are currently at the closing companies for processing. See Table 6 and Figure 3 and 4 for a summary of Elevation Disbursement Activity. The closing team has assisted closing agents complete 127,096 closings, of which: o The average award is $66,277. o 54,226 also received additional compensation grants. The average additional compensation grant award is $32,907. o Closed 29,244 elderly applicants for a total of $2,249,117,910. o Appendix C reports Closings by Parish and Zip Code. To date, the closing agents have completed 23,278 additional disbursements for a total of $666,139,551. The average additional disbursement is $28,617. Appeals As of April 8, 2010, 17,328 cases have been processed through the Appeals department, 17,078 have been resolved, and 250 are active. The average additional disbursement is $27,515. 853 (5%) resulted in a reduction of award for a total of $15,740,629. The average reduction is $18,475. 5,402 (32%) resulted in no change to the award amount. 4,520 (23%) were reviewed for an eligibility determination, 1,577 were approved and 2,943 were denied.as of April 20, 2009, 1543 appeals cases have been reviewed and resolved by HGI.
