CCAD Command Team COL Gail Atkins Commander Mr. Mark Wagner Deputy to the Commander SGM Patricia Wahl CSM Ms. Annette Cross Chief of Staff CCAD PAO Team Ms. Carla Green PA Chief Mr. Quentin Johnson PA Lead Ms. Della Adame PA Specialist Mr. Rafael Rubalcabra III PA Intern This year s Army-Navy game was a real nail-biter! The Army Black Knights were up until a 10-point, 4th-quarter comeback by the Navy Midshipmen. However, in the end, our Black Knights prevailed with a 17-10 victory. Congrats Army! President Donald Trump annouced that our very own Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, will replace Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford, as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. President Trump tweeted I am thankful to both of these incredible men for their service to our Country! Dunford will finish his term until his scheduled retirement next year.

By Rafael Rubalcaba III Since 1947, The Marine Toys for Tots drive has had a goal to bring the joy of Christmas and sending a message of hope to America s less fortunate children. The Army Depot can be proud of the impact they had on this year s Toys for Tots campaign. This year s campaign was led by CCAD test pilot, CW4 Andrew Gardner, who said this year s campaign went well. The workforce was very supportive, which was a true testament to their selfless service. Hundreds of items were donated, including dozens of bikes for all ages, which will help make a positive impact in the community, said Josh Provencio, CCAD test pilot. More importantly, each item will help bring a little more joy to each child who receives a gift. The benefits are the children no child deserves an empty tree, said Gardner. Provencio said that he loves the importance of the Toys for Tots campaign, and hopes the children, who understand why the military participates each year, will pass on this kindness and one day give back to others in need. The CCAD artisans were not the only ones to participate, family members got involved as well. Gardner said his own wife and children helped pick out toys to donate. Before the truck drove away, the Marines gave many thanks to the men and women of CCAD for their donations and their spirit of giving. Thank you CCAD for contributing to this year s Toys for Tots Campaign! 2 Photos by Jerry Duenes & Ervey Martinez

Share your Christmas In the spirit of giving, CCAD provided 1,300 pounds of nonperishable items to the 31st Annual Share Your Christmas food drive. All donations will be distributed through the Coastal Bend Food Bank to aid in the fight against hunger in our community. CCAD Commander, COL Gail Atkins, CCAD SGM Patricia Wahl, along with Depot service members and employees were on hand to help make the delivery at the KIII 3 News station. A big thanks to our CCAD family for making this happen! Happy Holidays everyone. Photos by Ervey Martinez and Kiana Allen

Around the U.S. 4 =Farewell 41= A military honor guard carries the casket of former President George H.W. Bush during the state funeral at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., Dec. 5, 2018. Nearly 4,000 military and civilian personnel from across all branches of the U.S. armed forces, including Reserve and National Guard components, provided ceremonial support during George H.W. Bush s, the 41st President of the United States state funeral. (DoD photo by Staff Sgt. Melissa Marnell) The Monarch You can become a Citizen Scientist and help recover tagged monarch butterflies that are migrating from Fort Hood to the Corpus Christi coast. It s easy to help, just 2 simple steps: Look for the sticker on the wing of the butterfly and enter the information online at MonarchWatch.org/tagging (copy and paste link in browser). Supporting our Schools CCAD volunteers from the Directorate of Information Technology, Norma Toscano, Jennifer Wilke, SFC Jose Hernandez and MP SGT Allan Mazen, were in the Christmas spirit at Zachary Kolda Elementary School! The CCAD-Kolda partnership tree was decorated with ornaments depicting Santa piloting a helicopter and the theme of Be Merry and Bright. Our soldiers posed with the extra special Zachary Kolda tree that featured first grade students on patriotic ornaments with an image of the school s namesake, pictured as a 1st grader, for the tree topper.
