With the passage of the Companies Act, 2013 and CSR Rules in place, the corporate world is keen to associate with credible VOs/ NGOs. CA evolved, after extensive consensus building within civil society, for good governance, transparency and accountability. CA has some set Norms which the VOs has to strictly abide with and due to this practice the VOs has made overall development and has attracted funding from donor agencies. It needs to be mentioned that the norms form the basis for due diligence for several philanthropic agencies as well. But the sobering thought is that CA has but reached a small proportion of the groups, many isolated in the rural hinterland. Its message of transparency and good governance has yet to get to them. A number of initiatives are being taken that will enable Credibility Alliance to come into sight. The systematic efforts of Credibility Alliance have enabled it to Accredit over 550 NGOs which are now available to various agencies/ organizations for possible partnership. CA plans on a complete website overhaul and intends to develop a Comprehensive Automation System; a CSR based knowledge system will be established in the website which can be readily accessed by all companies/ Corporates interested in supporting CA accredited NGOs as part of their CSR expenditure.. A new HR policy is in the process of finalization. Credibility Alliance has launched the second edition of the CSR handbook, which puts it in the major league of experts on issues related to corporate social responsibility. CA intends to organize workshops in major cities after the launch of the book. A donor dialogue day is also planned where representatives of leading agencies will be invited. CA has already brought out the second Development Impact report and is at present working on the third issue that deals with small NGOs under the theme of fighting poverty. These reports show case the nature of the work, the range of programmes implemented, by CA Accredited NGOs Credibility Alliance is now a part of Project SAMMAAN on CSR which was launched by hon'ble President of India on 29th April 2015. The project is in collaboration with CII, BSE and IICA. The benefit of this project will go directly to those VO's which are Accredited by CA. We are getting this opportunity to link our Credible VO s directly with the corporate Credibility Alliance's vision and mission are as valid today as they were at the beginning of the decade. An initiative by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), BSE and Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Sammaan is a platform that is the first of its kind that bridges the accountability gap between corporations and NGOs. Companies today find it increasingly hard to navigate the world of corporate social responsibility. They have no way to validate the legitimacy of the NGOs or be sure of how the funds are being utilised. With Sammaan, they can now pick from verified NGOs and avail periodic reports. Credibility Alliance is an associate partner to help list on SAMMAAN to guide through the process of enlisting NGOs and their projects on the SAMMAAN platform which include: Documenting the proposals in a template and make it 'Sammaan ready'. Help in registering, reporting and other related activities. As per a recent analysis done by BSE, there are 1,294 companies listed on its exchange that are required to spend nearly Rs.7,800 crores on CSR activities in the FY'16.
