The Recon Challenge is a multi-event endurance competition open to active duty members of the Recon and Raider communities. Every participant team carries the names of fallen Marines and Corpsmen throughout the competition to honor and memorialize their sacrifices. Again, the FRA served as the lead sponsor of this event providing the food and beverages for the participants and guests. We congratulate this year s Challenge winners: Major Patrick Zuber and GySgt Tyler Fedelchak. This is the second win for both Marines. 2016 FRA Annual Reunion-San Diego The 2016 Reunion was conducted around two familiar locations: the Holiday Inn San Diego Bayside served as our base camp and reunion headquarters, and the Basic Recon School served as our hosts for our visit to Camp Pendleton. Many of our FRA members commented that the Camp Pendleton visit this year was one of their best experiences ever. The members were treated to a beach insertion (demonstration) at San Onofre beach, followed by a breeching demonstration at one of the new training ranges. These demonstrations were followed by rifle and pistol live fire opportunities for our members which are always a highlight and we ended the day with a tour of the brand new BRC facility and training pool including a hog roast compliments of the BRC Staff. Major Pat Zuber and Gunny AJ Pasciuti executed a flawless experience for our FRA members and once again, I convey my sincere appreciation to them and the BRC staff for delivering a memorable experience. Our 2016 Reunion guest speaker, MSgt Dave Jarvis, delivered an inspiring address, and we appreciate and acknowledge both Dave and Tina Jarvis for their
Page 2 of 5 service to our Nation. As both are leaving the active duty ranks, we look forward to them joining us as retired civilians in 2017. 2016 2017 FRA Scholarship Recipients Congratulations to our 2016-17 FRA Scholarship recipients!
