Scholarship POSTER Contest Theme: Say No To Drugs Eligibility: Age 10 12 Years Prize: $500 Time: January 1, to October 31, Contest Rules: The goal of this contest is to encourage our children in making right choices and to live a healthy lifestyle by keeping with the Red Ribbon theme of being Drug Free. A panel of judges will select one winner. The winning poster will be displayed at the California Narcotic Officers Association Training Institute in Reno, Nevada in November. The winner will receive $500. All posters will be judged on neatness, content and theme. The theme should involve Say No To Drugs with an emphasis on the dangers of drug abuse. Poster size is 22 inch by 28 inch poster board or drawing paper. All art work, writing, painting must be done by hand or with hand tools. i.e. pencils, erasers, colored pencils, markers, crayons, rulers, protractors, compass, etc. Computers may not be used. Parents may assist and help the student think of ideas, but they may not do any of the poster work. Limit of one poster and entry form per student. The students must be between the ages of 10-14 years, and the groups can consist of the following. Recognized Youth Organizations or Educational groups such as schools, classes, Boys and Girls Clubs, Sports Teams, Fine Arts Groups, etc. The goal of this contest is to encourage our children in making right choices and to live a healthy lifestyle by keeping with the Red Ribbon theme of being Drug Free. A panel of judges will select one winner. The winning video will be displayed at the California Narcotic Officers Association Training Institute in Reno, Nevada in November. The winner or group will receive $500 total. All videos will be judged on theme, neatness, content, use of animation, set design, use of graphics, visual effects, sound design and editing. The theme should involve Say No To Drugs with an emphasis on the dangers of drug abuse. Parents may assist and help the student think of ideas, but they may not do the work for the student. Limit of one video and entry form per student/group. Videos should be in a DVD-R format and able to be played on a normal DVD player without difficulty.
