Cape Cod Healthcare seeks nominations and expressions of interest for the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer for the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation About Cape Cod Healthcare For nearly 100 years, Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) has provided superior health services on the Cape to residents and visitors. CCHC s history began in 1916 when the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod was formed and a single nurse was hired to serve the community. Before that time, injured and ill patients were transported by train to Boston for care. Local business leaders then founded Cape Cod Hospital in 1920, which merged with Falmouth Hospital in 1996 to become Cape Cod Healthcare. CCHC is now a $925 million system with 88 locations across the Cape comprised of two acute care hospitals, the largest home health agency on the Cape, a network of PCP and specialty care practices, urgent care centers, skilled and rehabilitation facilities, and an assisted living facility. CCHC has over 5,300 employees, 800 volunteers and more than 450 physicians serving patients and families. The system had a positive operating margin of $28 million in 2017; and in the last three years, CCHC has invested over $126 million in capital improvement projects. With disciplined fiscal management and philanthropic support from the community, CCHC provides high quality, comprehensive and accessible health services to the community. About the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation The philanthropic arm of Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) is the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation (the Foundation). The Foundation is responsible for raising funds for Cape Cod Hospital (CCH) in Hyannis, Falmouth Hospital (FH), the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), various outpatient centers, and other priorities established by the Board, senior administration, and clinical leadership. The Foundation is responsible for securing annual support, multi-year major and planned gifts, investments from corporate and foundation partners and participation from the community in strategic events to meet ambitious short and long-term goals. The Lightkeepers Society is one of the Foundation s signature programs. It was established in 2002 to honor the outstanding commitment of donors who give $5,000 or more annually to support healthcare on Cape Cod. Approximately 5,900 donors (including those from the Lightkeepers Society) contributed over $14 Million to the Foundation in FY 2017. CCHC s current strategic plan is ambitious and will require significant growth in giving through new donor engagement strategies. In 2013 the Foundation completed a comprehensive system-wide campaign, Honoring Tradition, Inspiring Change The Campaign for Cape Cod Healthcare, raising over $108 Million in support of projects such as the Mugar Building at CCH, Wilkens Outpatient Medical Complex and Cuda Women s Health Center in Hyannis, Clark Cancer Center at FH, Seifer Women s Health & Imaging Center at FH, the pediatric hospice and palliative care program at the VNA, and a medical staff recruitment fund. The leadership of CCHC has visionary plans for growth that will be supported by a new and groundbreaking $160 million campaign to launch in 2019. The campaign will expand CCHC s inpatient capacity and help to fund new stateof-the-art facilities for its comprehensive and highly regarded oncology and cardiac services. Further investments will be made in technology, the latest diagnostic equipment, and modernizing patient rooms and treatment spaces to enhance both the patient and caregiver experience. CCHC strives to meet the highest quality standards in patient care every day, and the campaign and ongoing support from the community enable the system to meet these goals. The new Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer will play a significant role in the success of the campaign and in CCHC s ongoing mission to continue to transform healthcare delivery on Cape Cod. 3
