At our May meeting we will have a sign up sheet for the pot luck dinner we will be having in June for our anniversary. We are asking you to bring either a main course, side dish, appetizer or salad. Desert will be an anniversary cake provided by the Society. There will also be a sign up sheet for any member who wants to receive a seedling and enter the growing contest. I would also like to remind all members about the photo contest we will have at the June meeting. You can submit up 2 pictures you have taken of a named orchid you have grown. The pictures must be of an 8 x 10 size, so start snapping those pictures now. I would like to let you all know that our board member John Budree is having an orchid sale on April 30 and May 1 at his home 1740 Sunset Strip in Sunrise. MAY SPEAKER Mark Edlund from Orchid Acres Our speaker this month is Mark Edlund from Orchid Acres. Mark is a graduate of University of Florida. He has 20 years of experience with orchids. His nursery is 15,000 square feet. He specializes in Vandas, but also has various other types of orchids. He will speaking to us this month about Vandas. His nursery is located at 4159 120th Ave S, Wellington, Florida. He can be reached at 561-795-9190.
