ABOUT US

OUR STORY We believe Everyone should have the opportunity to feel stable and secure. Everyone ought to experience the fulfillment of hard work. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. We believe in people. Common people. People who work long hours to make ends meet. People with mountains to climb and valleys to forge. People creating a better future for themselves and their families. We were created for hardworking people, by hardworking people. Our roots trace back to 1931, when the first of more than 25 credit unions now part of our history was chartered. We take our name from the credit union formed in 1949 to serve the employees of Mercury Marine, world-class manufacturer of outboard motors, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Today, our team of more than 400 employees serves over 92,000 members across Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois. We see our members as people, first and foremost. When you walk into Marine, you are more than a number. You are a human being, with a story. We serve everyone, especially those with past financial challenges. And as members of the Marine team, we are each empowered to be advocates for the people we serve.

For 5 years ending in, we ve experienced tremendous growth: Since 2013, the loan portfolio has grown by more than 250 million Which has led to annual asset growth of 13% helping generate 38 million in net income and an average annual capital growth rate of 15% Assets 2013 2014 2015 2016 Millions 900 800 700 600 500 400 300 200 100 We are focused on recruiting and retaining the right talent to be members of our winning team. Only with the right people will we continue achieving our growth and service goals. Financial Performance Since 2013, we have grown our loans to members by over 250 million. Our balance sheet has also grown from 474 million to over 755 million, an increase of 281 million. This growth is a result of our commitment to helping people achieve their financial goals. The successful growth of Marine has generated 38 million in net income over the last 5 years. Achieving this level of net income allowed us to increase our total capital by an average of 15% per year over the same period. Our continued growth and capital stability from steady earnings allows us to be a leader in providing financial services to the underserved. 1931 Eau Claire Postal 1933 Press Gazette (Green Bay, WI) Central Falk 1935 1938 Reporter Butchers 1941 Brewing and Malting Plant (La Crosse, WI) 1945 Mrs. Karls Bakeries Fond du Lac Area Culture We work hard and expect excellence. Our performance culture is competitive, yet supportive. We celebrate teammates who embody candor, accountability and integrity in the way they work. We recognize examples of quality service to our members and each other. STOP Leadership Shawn Hanson became CEO of Marine after its merger with Advantage in La Crosse, Wis., in 2006. As the former CEO of Advantage, Shawn led the two organizations through the largest merger in their 50+ year histories. Since then, he has grown Marine by more than 130%, including the completion of nine more mergers or acquisitions, the creation of more than 200 jobs and the expansion into the Milwaukee, Fox Cities, Eau Claire, Wis., Des Moines, Iowa and Quad Cities markets. Careers We take pride in providing career opportunities and developing people. In, we promoted 52 employees, 19 of those employees into leadership positions. We are committed to helping our employees grow their skills, accumulate experiences and pursue a career path they desire. From lending to member service to support functions like accounting, IT, HR and marketing, if you are willing to work hard and commit to excellence, we have a career path for you. Incentives We offer many career growth opportunities across the company through internal promotions and job transitions, training programs, collaborative work experiences and personalized coaching. Our team members receive additional paid time off, above and beyond their standard benefit, for special events outside work, including graduation (you or a child), purchasing a new home, the birth or adoption of a child and volunteering in the community. Social Responsibility Our members and employees generously give to the Marine Credit Union Foundation throughout the year. Through the Foundation, we support local charities and financial education in the communities we serve. But we don t make those decisions in a board room; we make them in our communities. The local team working at each Marine location has the opportunity to decide how funds are allocated and which charities need the most help based on community need and employee preference. Our Foundation is a great source of pride and expression for the Marine team.
