About the ISCA Run Following two successful editions, the ISCA Run is back for the third year and it will take on a familiar approach in engaging its members and the public to promote camaraderie among members, family bonding and healthy living. This much anticipated event will be happening on Saturday, 28 May 2016 at the OCBC Square. Equally importantly, the ISCA Run is about giving back to the society and wider community for which we, as Chartered Accountants of Singapore live in. As part of ISCA s corporate social responsibility, besides promoting healthy living and family bonding, we will be leveraging the ISCA Run as a platform for our members and the public to come together in support of ISCA s chosen beneficiary, ISCA Cares, for the ISCA Run this year. Making valuable contributions to others are imperative for ISCA members and the public as we play a part to building a better tomorrow and enriching lives to those in need. ISCA Cares ISCA Cares is a charity with Institute of Public Character (IPC) status set up by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) as part of Singapore's Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2015. As the national accountancy body, the Institute would like to provide a platform for the profession to come together to support worthy and meaningful causes, and give back to society. ISCA Cares aims to build a compassionate and caring accountancy community that actively contributes towards the betterment of society. To achieve this, ISCA Cares seeks to promote a strong social conscience and spirit of inclusivity in the accountancy community. Page 4
ISCA Cares Education Programme Commencing in 2016, the ISCA Cares Education Programme is the immediate focus of ISCA Cares. The programme provides disadvantaged Singapore youths with access to a quality education in accountancy. Donors contributions will go towards subsidising the tuition fees and basic living expenses of beneficiaries who have been admitted to, or are pursuing accountancy diplomas and degree courses, in local polytechnics and universities. Beneficiaries will also benefit from internship and mentorship opportunities under the programme. The internships will enable beneficiaries to acquire relevant work skills and experience, to supplement their academic programmes. Mentorship opportunities will be offered by senior ISCA members who will share their expertise and experience with, and serve as role models for these youths. Your Support is Important to Our Next Generation Crucial to the success of the charity is the firm support of our members, the wider accountancy and business community in Singapore. With your support and the beneficiaries own hard work and perseverance, we hope to provide disadvantaged Singapore youths, who aspire to join the accountancy profession, greater opportunities to reach their full potential, so that they will have a chance to build a better life for themselves and their future generations. For more information on how to make a donation, please visit isca.org.sg/isca-cares. Donations to ISCA Cares are now tax-deductible. Thank you for your compassion and generosity, and for sharing in our vision to care and provide support for future generations of aspiring accountants. Page 5
