BOROUGH OF GIBBSBORO 49 KIRKWOOD ROAD GIBBSBORO, NJ 08026 PRSRT STD U. S. POSTAGE PAID CHERRY HILL, NJ PERMIT NO. 118 LOCAL POSTAL PATRON GIBBSBORO, NJ 08026 Fund Started to Remember PFC Joseph E. Lauer A fund has been created to build a memorial at Eastern Regional High School, to PFC Joseph Lauer, a Gibbsboro resident and Eastern s only service member killed in action. PFC Lauer was KIA on May 31, 1968, just 23 days after landing in Vietnam. The group s creators hope to raise the estimated $20,000 necessary to complete the memorial. Donations can be made payable to the Joseph E. Lauer Memorial Fund c/o John Masso, 372 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. For more information call (856) 296-5552 or email Jaylauermemorial67@gmail.com. Revaluation News As previously reported, Gibbsboro is under a Court Order to conduct a revaluation of all properties within the municipality. The Borough has hired Professional Property Appraisers, Inc. to conduct the revaluation. As part of the revaluation process the Borough s tax maps have undergone major revisions, the first major updates since Gibbsboro was incorporated in 1924. The tedious process resulted in the effective date of the revaluation moving to January 2019. Employees of Professional Property Appraisers will be in town taking pictures of all properties from the street. Our police have all their IDs and car identification information. The employees also have a letter of introduction from our Tax Assessor, Tom Glock. For this phase they should not be on anyone s private property. The revaluation process does not, by itself, change the amount raised for municipal or local school purposes. It could impact your share of that amount based on the relative change in the value of your individual property when compared to others. Other factors that affect taxes are actual budgets and the relative value of Gibbsboro property values to other towns in the regional school district or County.
