General Information INTENDED AUDIENCE Primary care providers, pediatricians, and any other practitioners treating patients with allergies. This includes physicians, physician assistant, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and nurses. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this program, the learner should be able to: Discuss current status and prospects for the future for food allergen immunotherapy. Summarize symptoms and treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis. Identify symptoms of Food-Protein Induced Enterocolitis. Recognize a possible penicillin allergy and outline steps in penicillin allergy diagnosis. Describe difficult cases, discuss diagnostic plans, and explain hypotheses. Interpret recommendations on highly allergenic peanut introduction. Apply and extrapolate updated recommendations for food allergy testing to your current practice. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
