Page 2 From the President Fellow Members of the Nebraska Section of ASCE: It s officially spring! Or what we in Nebraska like to call Third Winter. Keep your eye on the weather report for that one week of nice weather we always get before it is suddenly 90 degrees and humid every day. I, for one, can t wait to get outside and enjoy some sun in my new ASCE speedo. Matt Hubel, PE, M.ASCE In March, the Environmental Technical Committee hosted our Section Meeting. At this meeting, Robert Parker, PE of Olsson Associates presented on the EPA Clean Water Act and Waters of the US. It was a very informative and timely presentation. Thanks to Shannon DeVivo, Environmental Technical Committee Chair for coordinating the event. Next up is the Transportation Section Meeting and the Transportation Conference. The ASCE/LOCATE Transportation Conference will be held May 4th at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha. Information on the Transportation Section Meeting is coming out shortly. Also coming up is the Nebraska Section Annual Meeting, which will be held May 17th at the Quarry Oaks Golf Club in Ashland. Keep an eye on your email registration will be open soon! Attending the event dressed as Happy Gilmore is strongly encouraged. The topic of the presentation was about the Navigating the Clean Water Act: A Map to the Waters of the United States. April 2018 Page 5 2018 LOCATE Transportation Conference NEASCE and LOCATE invite you to participate in their 14th Annual Transportation Conference. The conference will be held at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha, NE on May 4, 2018.
