For the school sports calendar, including results, please visit our website at https://www.charlottecatholic.org/domain/104 NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS Women s Lacrosse: There will be a meeting on Tuesday, December 18 th immediately after school in Room 312 for students interested in playing Women s Lacrosse in the spring. Opportunity for Service Hours: Student volunteers are needed for various shifts this weekend for the First Annual Art & Craft sale at CCHS. Students wishing to earn service hours are asked to contact Mrs. Keane in room 229, or email at joann.keane@cchsemail.org. First Semester Exams: Semester Exams are scheduled for Wednesday, January 9 th through Monday, January 14 th. The exam schedule is as follows: Wednesday, January 9 th Period A - 7:40-9:40 Thursday, January 10 th Period B - 7:40-9:40 Period C - 10:00-12:00

Friday, January 11 th Period D - 7:40-9:40 Period E - 10:00-12:00 Monday, January 14 th Period F - 7:40-9:40 Period G - 10:00-12:00 o During exam days, buses will arrive at CCHS at the normal time. o Bus riders will be picked up at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday January 9 th, and at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 10 th, Friday, January 11 th, and Monday, January 14 th. o Students are required to be at school only during their exams; otherwise, they are welcome to study in the library or in the cafeteria until noon each day. The library will close on Wednesday, January 9 th at 10:00 a.m. o On Thursday, Friday, and Monday, the cafeteria will be serving food from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Food will not be served on Wednesday. o Students who miss an exam due to medical reasons will need to see Mr. Belk to schedule a make-up exam. o Students must be in regular school uniform during exams. FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION Post-Game Football Celebration: Whether you attend the game or not, please join us on Saturday, December 15 th from 6:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the CCHS Gym to welcome the team home and celebrate a fantastic season! All attendees must purchase and provide a ticket at the door to attend the party. Tickets can be purchased only in advance via the online store. Tickets will not be sold at the door. o Who: Families, Friends, and Fans are all invited! o Food: BBQ, Mac and Cheese, Salad, Grilled Chicken, Cookies o Music: DJ Chris Pangalos of Rolling Thunder Productions

o RSVP: RSVP and pay at the online store here. The deadline to order post-celebration tickets is today, Friday, December 14 th at noon. After noon, event tickets no longer will be available for purchase. Football State Championship Game: CCHS will play Jacksonville High School on Saturday, December 15 th at 11:00 a.m. at Kenan Stadium on the campus of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Tickets may be purchased as follows: o At the gates at Kenan Stadium, on the day of the game. Tickets are $15 if purchased at the stadium. Children 5 and younger are admitted free, and Senior Tar Heel Passes are accepted. o Online, in advance, by clicking here. Tickets purchased online are $15, plus a convenience fee of $1.75, and online ticket sales are administered by the NCHSAA. o In the school lobby on Friday, December 14 th from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tickets purchased in the lobby are $14 and can be purchased with cash or checks made payable to CCHSAA. CCHS Spirit Store: The store will be in the school lobby today from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Stop by while you buy your tickets for the Championship football game, and grab everything you need for the big game! We have cowbells, car flags, pom-poms, and much more! This is your last chance to grab your gear before Christmas! Football State Championship UHC & NCHSAA Hurricane Relief Drive: United Healthcare has partnered with the NCHSAA for a Hurricane Florence Relief Donation Drive at the 2018 Football State Championship Game! 100% of all donations will benefit Hurricane Relief efforts for NCHSAA member schools. Text 50155 to donate or click here. Show your donation receipt at the United Healthcare booth at Kenan Stadium and receive a commemorative NC United t-shirt, while supplies last! Football Team Sendoff: Cougar Nation is invited to come to school at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, December 14 th and give our team a great sendoff as they leave for the championship game. Bring your cowbells! Local Broadcast of the Game: For those unable to attend the CCHS vs. Jacksonville game, and for those who are attending but also wish to record it,

the game will be broadcast live on MeTV, a sub-channel of WCCB, which is available over the air on channel 18.3, and through Spectrum Cable on channel 1260. In addition, the game can be watched online at https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/search?query=charlotte+catholic. GENERAL CURRENT ANNOUNCEMENTS The First Annual Art & Craft Sale is coming to the CCHS Library on Saturday, December 15 th, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., and on Sunday, December 16 th, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. It will include many wonderful handmade crafts and artisan vendors for your last-minute Christmas shopping. Proceeds benefit the new Fine Arts Center at CCHS! Please put it on your holiday calendar, and join us! Student Council Adopt-A-Family Christmas Project: Please support this longtime CCHS tradition and very worthy cause! Each homeroom has been given the opportunity to provide a magical Christmas for a child who might not otherwise receive Christmas gifts. All gifts and gift cards will be collected and delivered to Catholic Charities the morning of December 18 th. Thank you for your generous hearts. Help Support the CCHS Band: Need the perfect Christmas gift? Auto Bell gift certificates are just what you are looking for! Support the CCHS Band and get the perfect gift for everyone on your list. CAMPUS MINISTRY Volunteers Needed to Set Up Chairs for Christmas Masses: Volunteers are needed to assist with Christmas Masses at Charlotte Catholic as outlined below. Wednesday, December 26 th Take down chairs 10:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Attention Juniors and Seniors: Brochures are available in Campus Ministry for Kairos 43, which will take place January 25 th through January 27 th. The cost is $100 per student and scholarships are available. Students from Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell, Georgia will be joining us, so spaces will be first-come, first-served. COUNSELING The Martha Guy Summer Institute (MGSI) is a three-week summer program for high-achieving high school juniors considering pursuing a business degree. Students in DECA or FBLA clubs, as well as others interested in business, typically are a good fit. The program provides on-campus instruction and activities, as well as local and regional travel. Travel destinations vary by year, but travel to New York City occurs each year. Participants develop leadership skills, explore careers in business, meet business leaders, and develop new business ideas to present to industry leaders. o Program dates are July 7 th through July 27 th. o Application deadline is February 28 th. o Tuition is $1,900 plus a $350 meal plan. University of Southern California Summer Program: This program offers students a preview of freshman year through its college immersion experience. Students explore Los Angeles as a laboratory for cultural learning beyond the traditional classroom. The program is designed to combine college level course work, academic field trips, and structured extracurricular activities. USC Summer Programs offers two- and four-week courses in a variety of subjects. Applications are due by Friday, April 26 th. For more information, please visit summer.usc.edu. CCHS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

Winter Wonderland Spirit Night: Come support our CCHS Athletic Association on Saturday, December 22 nd at the Holiday Festival Experience located at Symphony Park behind SouthPark Mall at 4400 Sharon Road. Please remember to say you are from Charlotte Catholic, and $5 from each skate rental will be donated to the Athletic Association. Thank you for supporting the CCHSAA! Battle at the Bo: The 10 th Annual Holy Angels Invitational Wrestling Tournament will be held on December 27 th and December 28 th at Bojangles Coliseum. This annual event is organized by the CCHS Athletic Association and CCHS volunteer parents and students. All proceeds from this tournament benefit Holy Angels, which serves children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities and delicate medical conditions. Please make plans to join us for the 25 th anniversary of the CCHS Alumni Association Basketball Tournament! The tournament will be held on December 27 th at CCHS (with a possibility of a few games played on December 26 th ). The format and schedule will be determined by the number of teams registered. CCHS FOUNDATION Save the Date: Please make plans to join us for The Gala, which will be held on Saturday, February 23 rd at Carmel Country Club. All funds raised at this annual event go directly to CCHS to fund initiatives for teachers, students, and

classroom learning. Please see the Save the Date flyer at the end of the announcements. CCHS PTO Annual Teacher and Staff Gift Collection: This is the last week to donate to the Christmas Gift Fund. Help us show our appreciation for our amazing teachers and staff! Secure donations to the Gift Fund may be made at the online school store by clicking here and selecting PTO Gift for Teachers. We hope to feature some girls teams, teams from the 70s, 80s, and 90s including those who may not yet have visited our new campus, and our regulars who look forward to this every year. The final tournament format, along with exact days and times, will be determined by the number of teams registered. Registration is age-based and is $25 to $40 per person.
