Letter from Mr. Hamilton Today I asked the five year old kindergarten class the ques on, What does peace mean to you? Here is what they said. You can help somebody Being quiet Praying every day Giving thanks Being friends - not being mean You always share Be nice Be kind When someone is hurt you help them and pray for them At church when we shake hands Their answers make it seem so easy to find peace, to make peace, and to be at peace. This me of year, during the Christmas season, we see and hear the word peace quite a bit, but how o en do we see and hear the word peace all of the other days of the year? We should all live each day in the way the kindergarten class defined peace. It seems (at least to our five year olds) that it is not as important to see or hear the word peace, as it is to BE the word peace. We can learn a great deal from a five year old. I couldn t have defined it be er. Peace be with you, Steve Hamilton

Chess Club Forming: St. Gabriel School would like to start a Chess Club for students in 5th through 8th Grade. In order for us to offer this opportunity, we need an adult to supervise the group. This would be a volunteer position one hour after school one day a week beginning in January. The day of the week depends on the availability of the supervisor. If you are interested in this position, please contact the School Office before our Christmas break. Once we have someone in place, we will send out registration forms to the students in 5th through 8th Grade. The person who volunteers for this will need to have gone through the Safe Environment Education training before they can begin. School Closings: Now that winter is here, you never know when school might have to be canceled due to the weather. Tune into TMJ4, WISN 12 and the St. Gabriel web page to check for cancellations.
