InterContinental New Orleans New Orleans, Louisiana MEMORANDUM February 21-23, 2019 Dear Colleague, The Southern Regional Societies Annual Meeting will be held February 21-23, 2019 at the Inter- Continental New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Southern Regional Meetings promote excellence in both clinical and basic investigation. The three-day meeting will kick off on Thursday morning with the Cardiovascular Club meeting with State-of-the-Art lectures, and Mentored Oral Sessions, and contine with afternoon workshops on Manuscript Preparation and Peer-Reviewed Publication, Moving Your Clinical Case Presentation into a Published Manuscript, Career Advancement for Clinician Educator: Tactical Issues and Big Data for the Clinician: An Approach to Data Mining Using the United States Renal Data System and the concurrent sessions including Case Reports in Cardiovascular Medicine, and Pediatric and Adult Medicine Clinical Case Symposia. All meeting attendees are welcome to attend any of the workshops/symposiums being offered. The Joint Plenary Poster Session will be held on Thursday from 4:30-7:00 pm. Following will be specialty Club dinners. SSCI/SMR, SSPR Plenary Sessions as well as the APA Sponsored Workshops entitled The Pediatrician s Role in Public Health: Improving Health Outcomes Communities and Transforming your Passion into Scholarly Work will be held on Friday morning with the addition of Meet the Experts for Breakfast session followed by a Workshop on Career Advancement for Clinician Educator: Strategic Concerns, Southern Epidemiology and Population Health Club Lunch On Methodological Challenges of Research on Population Health Inequalities, and Concurrent Subspecialty Scientific Sessions including State-of-the-Art presentations. Saturday s activities will kick-off with the Joint Plenary Session entitled Precision Medicine: The Future of Patient Care. Following these programs, our traditional Jazz Lunch will be held. In the afternoon, there will be additional Concurrent Subspecialty Scientific Sessions and State-of-the-Art presentations.
