Page 4 City of Weston November 2018 The November 15 th meeting held at the District office in Athena was called to order by Chairman Chrys Wernlund. Directors present were Treasurer Carol Kirk and Secretary Elizabeth McIntyre. Director Chris Williams was absent. The first order of business was the swearing in of Katie Brewer of Weston, who was appointed to fill the vacant position #5. The Board would like to thank all those that applied. The minutes were approved from the October 17, 2018 meeting. The October 2018 Treasurers Report was accepted, and the November 2018 bills were approved for payment. Under Old Business the upcoming Christmas party to be held on December 8 in Weston was discussed. Both new heart monitors have arrived, and the staff is getting trained on their use, so they can be placed into service. Thank You to the AWERE Grant and the Adams Community Benefit Plan for the funds to purchase these new monitors. The Board moved to contract with RHB, LLC CPAs to conduct the Audit Review for FY 2017-2018. The Audit Review needs to be turned into the State Auditor by the end of December. Resolution 2018-5 was passed by the Board which allows Administration Mark Moore to work with a committee of representatives from the Helix Rural Fire Protection District, the City of Athena and the East Umatilla County Rural Fire Protection District. This committee is working towards the establishment of an IGA (Intergovernmental Agreement) between the four entities. There will be a public meeting on December 11at 5:00 p.m. at the Community Hall in Weston to discuss the process with a representative of Special Districts Association of Oregon. The District has a new website at www.eucaahd.org information and a list of upcoming events. The District has responded to 239 calls for service in 2018. Meetings are open to the public.

City of Weston Page 5 Umatilla County Pioneers Seeking Photographs Do you have photographs of past Pioneer Queens or Grand Marshals? Photographs of past parades? Someone is looking for photos of the 1973 parade with the float for Pioneer Queen Ruby Collins. Wasco County Pioneer Association would like to have photographs for the website to add to the history of the organization. We re also looking for biographies for many of the past Queens and Grand Marshals. The Senior Menu for Weston and Milton-Freewater is posted on Community of Weston s Facebook page, the city s newsletter, and at www.westonoregon.com under the Senior Citizen tab. The Food Pantry is located at the Franklin Street door of City Hall. The Weston Food Pantry will distribute food each month on the Saturday after the 3rd Friday between 10:00a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Citizens from Weston, Athena, Adams, and the surrounding area are welcome. Please bring your own bags or box. Don t be late. We must close on time. They have wonderful food supplies for folks in need. BUT, paper products are not part of what they provide. So, the Weston-McEwen Lions Club gathers paper towels and toilet paper to be part of the offerings. You can help!! There are boxes for your paper donations in the US Bank in Athena and in the Weston City Hall. We appreciate your help.
