surface against the targeted 5000 ha at the beginning. Overall disbursement rate is 96%, and the government request for a 6-month extension of the closing date until June 30, 2012 to complete all remaining activities has been just approved by the Bank. This will also allow the additional financing that is under preparation to take place during that period. The triggers necessary for a third phase of this 3-phase APL are not achieved yet. This will mainly depend on the land tenure study (expected to be completed during the extension period) and the government decision regarding the agricultural credit institution reform. The update of the rural sector strategy was launched during the month of December 2011 and results are expected before June 2012.
