AWARENESS TRAINING AWARENESS TRAINING MCH 35 3 25 2 15 1 5 5 8 IDENTIFIED REFERRAL S KITCHEN GARDEN & HERBAL GARDEN VOLUNTEER IDENTIFICATIONS REFFERAL FOLLOW UP CAMP GRAMA SHABA PARTICIPATION AWARENESS TRAINING MCH HOSPITAL CLEANING VILLAGE HEALTH SURVEY FARMER TRAINING 2 16 14 12 1 9 8 6 4 2 146 88 54 July/18 August/18 September/18 We conducted the Maternal Child Health Training program for ANC Mothers, ICDS Teachers, College Students, School Children, Nehru Yuva Kendra and general people. In the training, we covered the following topics; Govt. Schemes 18, 14; CM Insurance Schemes; Food & Nutrition and Kitchen Garden. Around 11346 people attended the 288 such Training programs in 3 districts in Tamil Nadu.
KITCHEN GARDEN IN ICDS CENTRE & SCHOOLS We started 149 Kitchen Garden & Herbal Garden in the ICDS Centres and Schools across 3 districts in Tamil Nadu. This was possible with the support of ICDS Teachers, School Children & volunteers. Around 613 people participated in this project. 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 KITCHEN GARDEN & HERBAL GARDEN 43 6 July/18 August/18 September/18 46 GRAMA SABHA PARTICIPATION To solve the people s problems and to decide how to use the available resources optimally in ways desired by them, to benefit the poorest in the village through direct democratic and participatory planning, the State government decided to conduct the Gram Shaba in all the panchayats on 15th Aug 218. In this quarter, EKAM participated in the Gram Shaba through the District Coordinators in their home town. We participated in 23 places across Tamil Nadu and covered the agenda -- Administration & Budget, Basic Facilities, Health Awareness, Village Panchayat plan, NRGES Work (1 Days), Infrastructure issues and Natural Resource Management.
VOLUNTEERS IDENTIFICATION During the panchayat visit, Our District Coordinators identified the local interested volunteers village-wise in districts. They engaged them in the health activities in villages and empower their health knowledge and also engaged them in social activities in their own villages. In the months of Aug. & Sept., 172 volunteers were identified. REFERRALS FOLLOW UP MEDICAL CAMP 12 1 8 6 17 65 In the quarter Jul.- Sept. 218, Referral Follow up Cardiac Medical Camps for children were conducted in Krishnagiri DEIC Government Hospital;Dharmapuri DEIC, Government Hospital; DEIC, Trichy Medical College & Government Hospital, and RMGH-DEIC Thanjavur. In these camps a total of 57 children were screened out of which 147 children were identified for surgery. The screening in these camps was done by renowned Pediatric Cardiologists from Chennai and Coimbatore. 4 2 VILLAGE HEALTH SURVEY 12 1 8 6 4 2 74 During the panchayat visit, Our District Coordinators also collected the data to understand the concern and gaps in the basic requirements in panchayat /district wise. In Aug. & Sept., 13 villages were covered. 56 ENT camps were conducted in Vyasarpadi, Kancheepuram and Govt. School, Meesalur, Virudhunagar. A total of 277children were screened. An Anaemia check-up Medical Camp was conducted in Perambalur at Veppur Women s Arts & Science College in which 75 adolescent girls participated. An Eye Medical Camp was organised in Ariyalur Govt. School. In this camp,total 53 Childern were screened and 5 were diagnosed with some eye ailment that required medical attention.
FARMER TRAINING This project intended to change the Natural farming for all the farmers in Tamil Nadu. In this quarter, we conducted the training programs in 2 places in 2 zones. During the training the topics covered were Natural Farming, Muti Corps System, Water harvesting, Kitchen Garden, Bore well system and Water Conservation. Training was given by Mr.Kannan, Farming Consultant. In these programs, 66 people were given training. DISTRICT COORDINATORS& ZONAL OFFICERS TRAINING Every two months we conduct training programs and workshops for DCO s and ZO. In July month we organized the Basic Life Support Training Program for DCO s and ZO at Don Bosco Centre, Ennore, Chennai. This training was given by Mr.Karthick & his team, Alert NGO. The topics covered were: The way of Heart pumping Method CPR Importance Airway Process CAB method Compressing Breathing Blood Circulation Recovery Position Bleeding Choking Fracture
SUCCESS STORIES Vinith 5 years old boy from Cheyyur, Kancheepuram district was diagnosed with Midgut Malrotation with volvulus. Initially he was treated at Primary Health Center Kancheepuram and unfortunately he had complaints of abdominal pain and non bilious vomiting for 1 day. Immediately they rushed to Kanchi Kamakoti Childs Trust Hospital for further treatment, Dr. Lakshmi sundararajan Senior Consultant was planned for Emergency Laparotomy + Ladd s procedure. The cost of the procedure was estimated as Rs.7, 84/- since the father of the boy is working as an agricultural labourer, his meagre salary was not enough to afford for the treatment cost. Knowing their poor situation Ekam has facilitated the treatment with gov schemes and contributed Rs. 5,/- for the procedure. The very same day he had underwent Laparotomy + Ladd s procedure and discharged from the hospital and discharged from the hospital on 18/7/218. Now he has recovered and living a healthy life.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT Successful provision of quality services in healthcare depends not on the equipped unit but on the availability of round-the-clock clinical expertise, backed up by monitoring devices and equipment. Well-trained nurses and medical staff form the backbone of the service. Thus, the unit should have the required number of appropriately trained and qualified nurses.
